Bronze Dual Brooch Close-up

A close-up of the dual brooch I made on suggestion/loose commission for . She asked for a dual brooch with large bronze cabs and I believe pearl chain as well. The pendant features a small blossom of Everlasting Pea, which is such a beautiful flower- it ranges from pure white (as shown) to bright fuchsia when fresh, but it dries to a lovely pale bluish-lavender shade. I did a bit of surgery on this one, removing the seedpod and twisting the outer petals just so to make it lay flatter, but it also gave it a silhouette that reminds me of a bonnet, which I thought would be perfect for a milliner. The pendant is also backed by a pieces of antique newspaper; I found this in a drawer in an antique vanity over the summer, and I only have two small pieces of it, so once it's gone, it's gone, which makes this pendant all the more special and unique. It is connected with a strand of pearls and bronze metal chain to a dark brown rose brooch on the other side.
