(SM) Minis - Calling for Help
Paul Stevens huffed as he came into the house, dragging the heavy bags of groceries on his arms. He let out a short groan as he closed the door behind him, followed by a grunt as he let the bags fall to the floor. He grabbed the lightest one and plopped it onto the kitchen table before taking a deep breath and cupping his hands.
“Girls! Snacks!”
Excited squeals sounded from upstairs, followed shortly by the banging of three pairs of feet as the only other occupants of the house came barreling down the stairs. The girls eagerly grabbed at the bags.
“Ooo…marshmallows and popcorn!” Avery squealed with joy.
“And chips!” Violet announced, removing the final item from the bag.
“Thanks, Dad!” exclaimed the tallest one, Claudia. She gave her father a quick hug before turning back to her friends.
“Back to the movie!”
“Yay!” Avery shouted. She turned for a moment.
“Thank you, Mr. Stevens!” she said, remembering her manners.
“Yes, thank you Mr. Stevens!” Violet parroted. The three took
