Hikers atop the cliffs can take a step back in time to the Tertiary age and watch the soaring birds play on the updrafts created by the steep rock face. It is the easternmost mountain of the Main Ranges in the Bow Valley and sits astride the Castle Mountain Fault which has thrust older sedimentary and metamorphic rocks forming the upper part of the mountain over the younger rocks forming its base. The mountain's castellated, or castle-like, appearance is a result of erosive processes acting at different rates on the peak's alternating layers of softer shale and harder limestone, dolomite and quartzite. How it works:
Anyone who signs up for the Secret Santa Art Swap will be added onto a list and randomly matched with someone else who signed up. Signups will begin in the middle of October, and end the third week of November. The last week in November, we will begin matching up users and sending out notes. This should give everyone plenty of time to make their art! You'll be noted with the information about who you're doing art for - then just draw (or w
