Hello! Nice to see you all again! How long has it been? Don't answer that.
(Could have been longer actually, but I'm trying to be witty here.)

Basically I'm going to be asking for a little help here.
I know that for some of you this is out of the question,
and don't worry about it. Even if you just don't want to, I understand!

Lately I've been making some major changes in my life.
I've decided it might be best for me to ditch my typical drawing methods
and find something that I'm more comfortable with.
I think I've found it, but it needs polish.
I believe that will come with time and diligence.

Another change is that I'll be moving in less than two weeks if all goes well.
I'll be staying with my dad, so I won't need MASSIVE amounts of money yet.
He's agreed to let me stay on the condition that I at least do some volunteer work
throughout most of the week until I find a stable job.

Now here's the part where I tie those two things together and ask for help.
In that city, I rely on public transportation a lot.
If I'm going to be going all over the place all day, every day,
volunteering and looking for work, I'll be needing a bus pass
or some means of paying the fare. I'd rather not ask my dad for a loan
since he's already being so generous, but a month-long bus pass
costs $100 for adults ($30 for youth, which I could pass by, but that's cheating!).

I'm reluctant to advertise commissions because I've come to see how much
my usual style really weighs on me. I also want to keep working on
the style I'm trying to gravitate towards. It's only JUST NOW hitting me
that perhaps I should advertise commissions using the new style
so I can kill two birds with one stone.

I don't have many examples; in fact, I only have one.

I'll be posting more as I continue to work on it. But in the mean time,
I've got about $80 I need to make, hopefully by the end of the month.

In order to get the ball rolling, I'll open up 7 slots that I'll start on ASAP
^{after I finish the two commissions I'm currently on fff}
The first 5 will be $10 each to help get things going then the last two will be $15.
They'll probably come out a mix of chibi and full-body... I don't plan on doing waist-ups or chibi.
They might be fully proportioned, or they might be a little stylized.
As I said before, I'm working things out, so a lot will probably be a surprise.
I DON'T plan on surprising people with awful quality though, so rest assured.
I'll simply be incorporating their characters into my daily practice.

How does it sound?
If you can't help/aren't interested, a little signal boost would be nice but not necessary ofc. C;

As it stands now, any time I do commissions I'm working for about 10-20% of minimum wage.

It wasn't originally a problem, but I'm coming to a point in my life where I really need to start making enough money to live off of; to start being serious.
I'm having trouble getting a "regular" job, so I'm beginning to consider an attempt to live off of my skills.
This means I'll have to go about things a lot differently; I'll have to actually start spreading myself around and selling myself in hopes of getting some work.
But my main question is this; would it be odd to charge for commissions based on time spent, rather than chibi vs. waist up vs. full body etc.?
It would be done so that the person could compare examples of how much time was spent on pieces and decide how long they want me to spend on theirs.
If I end up finishing it before then, I'll continue working and refining; if I go overtime, it's my loss, they aren't charged any extra.

It'd take a lot of getting used to, and it's not a typical way of doing it, but it would help me keep track of whether or not I'd be able to make it a living.
Obviously right now $10/hr is a bit ridiculous, before I go that far I have a lot of improving to do on both quality and speed; but I think you get the point.
Hopefully if I got enough flow those would both start improving more quickly than ever.
It's really out of my comfort zone, but being homeless or staying in my current situation is even more so.

That said, I really want critiques. I want judgement. For anything. I want you guys to bash on me! D: <

I started using Line messenger on my phone and such, as well as Line Play, so if anyone wants to add me~ I also have Kakao but I don't have anyone added..

Also, since my premium ran out and I no longer have a custom box, I don't really have a convenient link to my commission info, so I'll be using a Facebook note instead. I'm not sure if people who aren't signed in to Facebook can see it, though, so that's an issue... Iunno, getting things worked out, one thing at a time. Commissions are open though! I'm currently shuffling around things like prices and how much a sketch will be vs. a really clean takes an eternity to do piece. I'm also churning out pixel dolls for fun, I may end up selling those cheaply since they don't take very long to do.

Anyway, without further ado; updated info!

I'm really sorry for being so slow with commissions!
I've come down with some nasty bug and needless to say, it's a little hard to draw when you can barely sit upright D:
(I can't even blame it on slacking by playing games or visiting people because I can't do that either /shot)

I promise that they are first on my priority list and I will get to them as soon as possible, hopefully before school starts again.
After that I'll try to draw more often in general. Another new year's resolution waiting to be neglected! OTL
But I really do need to work on drawing all the time so maybe I can draw faster while I'm not feeling like roadkill over mashed potatoes.

On another note, thank you everyone for your birthday wishes!
You're all so lovely and sweet, words can't express how much I appreciate your continued support.
I really want to show it more often, but that's something I need to work on; it's there in my mind, I just haven't pulled it out yet!
I know I'm always complaining about wanting to be better and not actually doing it, but thanks for sticking with me anyway.
