US Army paratroopers prepare to load into a CH-47 Chinook helicopter during an air-assault mission to detain a known militant in the Bermel district of Paktika province, Afghanistan. The paratroopers are assigned to the 25th Infantry Division's Company B, 3rd Battalion, 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team.

Love the shot, and out of curiosity, how do you have a camera that can get such a good shot in this kind of moment?

He doesn't, the shot wasn't taken by the uploader but by Andrya Hill, who's with the US military. The uploader never moves to clarify that these photos aren't his own, though, so don't bother to wait for an answer from him. And any normal DSLR and even most point-and-shoot cameras could take it. It's all a question of the photographer's skills.

Welcome. To my knowledge it's likely the shot was taken with either a professional level Canon or Nikon DSLR, so most likely a Canon 1D MkII or MkIII or a Nikon D2 or D3.

please don't take this wrong but for me who lives in a safe and cozy city (Montreal, Quebec, Canada) this looks like out of a video game ! Hard to believe that for you and a huge bunch of valiant men, this is almost daily bread ! amazing photo ! I salute your courage and your values !
