Just realised I never posted the finished version of this. #3 in a series of experiments I did during an anatomy workshop at school. Randomly in the middle of the gesture drawing sessions, when we were doing 1 minute poses, I would open a page in my moleskine, draw 3 gestures in a row from the model on the page trying not to think about the placement or anything. I did this to four different pages then went back and worked into them, rendering the figures from imagination/memory. The idea was to come up with a composition that I would never have thought of on my own, seeing as I didn't decide the model, the poses, the order of the poses or any of the many variables that dictated the main shapes on the page. It was pretty addictive to do!

I'd love to just be able to pick up a pencil and sketchbook and do gesture drawings with such ease. Maybe one day? If you don't mind me asking, what pencil do you use?
