Hey guys! Just a real quick doodle to sort out colours of uniform. Classic, and obvious, sea blue Vs. a more original combination of rust and moss? Your choice! Shout now!

Hmm, should the colours be greyer or toned-down - more suitable to modern warfare?

the greenish-blue one would be a better choice...since it's simple yet highlighed as well. and it's not too extravagant.. which is better, i think. the red one looks ok..but i think the green of his pants are too bright. maybe darker in color or smaller in size.

Yeah - the more simple blue would probably work better. The contrast of the red and green might not be at effective - design wise. I was thinking of changing the blue to a brownish/green with white and gold high-lights... hmm?

hmmmmm...that would also be a great style. you could go with it. but it's all up to you if you wanna change it; it's your design. :) the greenish blue color looks new and different (havent seen much of that color in military attires). XP

I'm just trying to think how it would fit in within a larger picture - a little too sky-blue, you know - it would throw the entire compesition out.

hmm! i dont think you should change the colour of their suit. might be cool to change the colour of their visible skin (face, fists) maybe mybbe :d

Well, I'll have all the various colours humans can be depending on what I feel is appropriate. Which colour do you think I should have?
hikikomori's avatar
I was thinking about more pale skin colour. that could distinguish the yuth from elder people. elder ones might have darker skin :)

An analogy for innocence perhaps - deep. :D Thanks.

The red one's more lively but somehow I'm more attached to the blue one, it looks a little monotone but I think adding some brown or orange hues can help balance it out.

I love the design of your soldiers, the helmets especially.

Brown and orange - madam, you are a genius of colour!
Thank you very VERY much. The helmets are half japanese, half spanish, half french... urh - help! XD
THank you also, for taking time out of your time to look at this.

ok I didn't watch every post evrebody..euh..posted

so ,logically if i was at war I would pick the bluegrey one, cause if you were red I think it would be much easier for everybody to shoot you

well it was kinda like that on the WW1,french army had red pants ,a mistake that blow up a whole generation of french ,and then they choose the grey capote that pretty look like your first one

so yay

blue 's better

This isn't about realistic war, it's about asthetics! :D No, I think you're right - the blue is the better colour, but - dont you find it two monotonal.

Oh, side-note - you have a fantastic gallery and I'm adding you in every kind of list.

thanx ,i really appreciate

and for the uniform ,I guess it's pretty interresting to put some idea on it,cause this make an impression on your reader (cause drawing is about that, impression)

actually the red one could also work,in an arrogant or frightning way, like the red baron(still at WW1),he was a pretty good pilote ,and very feared because of his skills(and probably because when you can't make a face on something it's getting even more scary ,no emotion ,HO MY GOD,YOU BLANK FACE..hum..ok) and the way his plane was painted

it was completely red

and that just scared the hell of the allies planes

It's my pleasure. You're my artist of the Month, and will recieve due recognition in my next journal.
I was thinking of having the blue, but breaking it up with rusty-oranges... perhaps?

Sounds interesting. But did you know in the first world war the Central Power's aircraft where usually painted a combination of green, yellow and purple.
bistroboy's avatar
huho thanks man ,i don't know if I really deserve this but I'll do with it héhé

the rusty orange sounds interresting, complementary colours always rocks so^^

I didin't know about the aircraft, did they know why they were painted like that or it was just random??
Mikenestin's avatar
Ah, you deserve it totally. Go on, enjoy it while I'm not blaming you for anything.
I think most where painted like that, but different squadrons went for different colours.

I like the blue, it reminds me... of Atlantis? lol
but I like the green on the red one... and yeah, as someone said above, the blue Is a bit monotone.
Mikenestin's avatar
So, yellow would break it up you think?

I really got a hang for the greenish version... though they look both great. Both are beyond suitable. :3
To me the blue-green one seems like an 'ordinary' soldier and the crimson looks more like and leughtenant ot higher.

And! If you say this is a 'real quick doodle' then you should stop complaining about your tablet problems! Mwah! It's all so well done. ... I couldn't do that. ;^;

Mhmm... Sea green. All the way for me. :3
Mikenestin's avatar
I thought you'd say that - ;D just your style. Thank you very much for your opinion.
nana-tilde-asterisk's avatar
I'd love to have sea green clothes.... but the colour doesn't seem to be in fashion at the moment, so it's unavailable. ;_;
Mwah! <333 Welcome.
Mikenestin's avatar
I know, I wish I could find some nice green of any type... but nooo.
