I was commissioned a recreate this classic 90's x-men cover by Jim Lee. This cover is one of the images that really got me drawing. It was pure joy to recreate this and also quite a challenge. I had to shorten the image length wise so it worked better as a stand alone commission. The character I changed the most was Psylock as thep ose and high rise bikini looked dated and just wasn't me. Everything else was perfect so I stuck pretty close to it. Hope you guys enjoy it!
ya know...at a glance, I dismissed this as a joe mad type ripoff(as far as style), but I looked at it more, and more... and more.. and I began to LOVE it. and NOW, im kinda thinking its BETTER than the Jim Lee one.. this is GREAT. and id pick up a book drawn by you any day.
could i ink this for practice and my portfolio?
of course! anyone is free to ink and color this, you can download the high rez on the right. look forward to seeing it
This is absolutely amazing. I love your artwork and you have masterfully recreated this. I still have this full series Run, love this book!
same! all those great pin-up shots. jim found so many ways to really show off the characters in that issue. it was a shame Claremonts dialogue was so wordy and covered up the beautiful art! LOL
Brings back some great memories, great Job!
same here. i learnt a lot aged 13 drawing this and learnt even more drawing it again 20 years later!
CRAZY AMAZING! Love it in so many ways!
Crazy awesome man, brilliant recreation!
thanks...I'd love to do the next covers of that run but it's just finding the time!
Fantastic!! Needs colored, though.
agreed!...I put the high res version up here so hopefully people will want to ink and color it.
Pure nostalgic, the 90's, my time, freaking awesome!!
This is awesome, man! One of the greatest comics ever, and also one that got me into drawing as well.
