For me painting is a way to understand the world and my place in it. The motives of my paintings are most often arbitrary moments in nature. When a color, a shape or an atmosphere catches my attention, I pursue to capture it by camera or a quick sketch. With these tools: camera, sketch and my memory of the moment I paint my artwork at home. I like my paintings to be realistic, but at the same time I want to leave space for imagination and the kind of invisible mystery that you cant quite catch with your four senses. My roots are in a small town of Pirkkala. After my art studies elsewhere in Finland I moved back to the same area in a bigger city called Tampere, where I now live with my wife and two children. At present I feel that the beautiful sceneries of the large lakes around Tampere are my greatest inspiration. As an art medium I prefer oil colors but I have also painted several murals with acrylic paint and take interest in comics as an art form as well.
