Thanks for the watch 🥰
Hey; ever thought of doing TMP Era Galaxy and Sovereign Class saucers using the refit Constitution saucer?
I’m already trying to do an Constitution-ized Excelsior Class saucer; by using Gundam1701’s refit Constitution saucer, and the bridge module and impulse housing from Adrasil’s Churchill Class saucer.
I’m also trying to create an new Phase II saucer by using Gundam’s refit Constitution saucer, and the impulse engines from his TOS Avengers Upgraded Constitution Class, and the saucer underbelly pennants from your Defiance Class design.
The whole idea I had for my Phase II design from the start; was to bring the original Enterprise into the future by keeping the original configuration intact, while making it the same length of the refit and using the same hull plating and technology that the refit uses.
As for nacelles; those are already made, and were made for me by Adrasil; but I am trying to update the look by keeping them more in line with the original configuration’s tubular nacelles than they are now.
Thanks for the watch
and fav now
Hello there!
I first found your art on a thread on SpaceBattles, and I quickly gravitated to the Concordiat-verse designs, especially the lore.
Recently, when I was looking at your dreadnought designs, I was reminded of a concept created by David C. Mueller (he does have a Deviantart account, but it's been long abandoned by now); specifically, this Constitution-class redesign.
(Here is what the exterior looks like for context.)
The part of the cutaway I want to point out is that the warp cores (yes, there are two of them) as well as the antimatter tanks are located in the nacelles, with the main engineering space in the secondary hull dedicated to power distribution.
The way I see it, this arrangement would not only serve to keep the antimatter far from the ships habitable spaces, but also dramatically decrease the maintenance time of any given ship (simply swap out the used nacelles for fresh ones from storage), as well as freeing up space in the engineering hull for other equipment.
This would also mean that more warp engines DOES equal more power, to an extent.
The two major downsides I can see would be the need to constantly synchronize the warp cores in order to produce a stable warp bubble, and the fact that, should one of the nacelles be damaged or destroyed in a battle, a ship could potentially lose warp capability altogether.
