Neanderthal: I never thought I’d die fighting side by side with a cro-magnon
cro-magnon: how about side by side with a friend?
Neanderthal: aye, I could do that.

I have a question...could Neanderthals speak our language?
Mihin89's avatar
Certainly Neanderthals spoke their language.

But did they have the right organs to speak ours?

From an anatomical point of view, the neanderthals hyoid bone is similar to ours. So it probably worked just like ours. They certainly had their own specific voice.

Awesome ! Very good work !! :D

So neanderthals were the real dwarfs of our mythology ?!
The posture fits perfectly ! :o

I don't know, maybe hominids
from the past had an influence of mythology:)

Nehanderthals were another human specie (and not just a race).
They didn't really disappeared, but they mixed with cro magnon. We descend from both. Occasionally nehanderthal physical characteristics reappear in people, maybe they have eyes settled to high, at the point to look out of proportions, or they have a stronger and bigger body.

If they mixed then they aren’t a separate species since being a different species means you can’t intermix

It's very logical & pleasurable theory !

You can even tell by the quality of the tools that humans were smarter!
INCREDIBLE!

Ho-ho.
Neanderthals had brains up to 1|6 larger than ours... and even larger than that of the sapiens's of their time - that's for the starter.
And in case you didn't know, the first glimpses of the Upper palaeolithic cultures were made by the Neanderthals not by sapienses.

The most probable reason for the Neanderthals gone extinct was not their intellect but the demographic pressure from the south. There were massive migrations from africa into Europe after 50 KYA and a very high rate of breeding of the immigrant species within the small habitable limits of the Ice Age Europe.

The quality of tools that 'survived'

We have no idea what they were using during the rest of the Ice Age and before, not really.

Neanderthals are seriously given an unfair, dishonest, and often unscientific, illogical portrayal

They had larger brains, for starters.

Modern humans are stupid. They just don't know it.
