I have to put my cat down this week. Probably on Friday.
She's a month shy of her 18th birthday and has been living with chronic renal failure (kidney failure) for 3 years now. However, I've managed this very well and her kidneys have been stable over the course of the disease, and still are. Ultimately, it's something else that is killing her. Today my vet found a fast growing lymphoma in her abdomen. It's preventing her body from getting enough nutrients, so she has wasted away into a 4.5lb shadow. We didn't know what was going on... this explains her decline over the past three months and shocking weight loss despite my feeding her 6oz of food every day via syringe.
So, it's with an extremely heavy heart that I'm going to say goodbye to my beloved Panther. She's been my very best friend since I was in the third grade, I love her dearly, and we'll all miss her.
It'll be 6 months to the day that Sultan passed.
It really, really sucks losing a pet
This is my favorite photo of her:fav.me/d1skrw0
