Description
Done for the internet Ray-trace competition (www.irtc.org) out of place subject. I probably won't have time to touch this before I submit it so I'm going to call it done for a while, but knowing me it'll probably be revisited.
Things I don't like and will change (eventually): The tree, I'd like it to be a maple but didn't have time to do that so I didn't. The leaves, they look a bit flat to me, I'd like to change that. The moon surface doesn't sit well wwith me. The side of the basket is too flat. Don't like the stars. The clouds on earth seem too flat as well. Maybe add in a bottle of wine+glass.
Rendered in POV-Ray in ~1.5hr. I used Arbaro to generate the tree, image maps from NASA's blue marble for earth, I modified Gilles Tran's grass macro for mine, and hand modelled everything in the picnic (except the blanket) with Wings3D.
