Firestarter Pt. 2In fairytales the ages sixteen or eighteen are the magical life changing ages; usually on birthdays. Not so with Aiden and me. Our life changed a couple months after we turned seventeen. I, being a redhead, tend to have a short tempter. I also, admittedly love to argue. Those two traits combined led to a verbal scrap with one of the neighbors. He didn't particularly care for the fact that a "mere girl" was winning. I live in a tough neighborhood. Our argument led to knives being drawn. Unfortunately he had me outmatched in the fact he was bigger (not that hard considering I'm a twig), stronger, and more skilled. He managed to pin me to the ground and was in the process of introducing me to the blade of the long knife he held. His knife, in the process of trying to find my heart caught on my ribs. He had lousy aim. I remember it hurt
it hurt a lot.
Firestarter Pt 1I guess to understand me I'd best start at the beginning. I don't know where else I'd start because the beginning is usually where stories start. But that's beside the point. I've never been alone. You see, I'm a twin. Since before I was born, my brother, Aiden, has been a part of me and me a part of him. The thought of being alone is a terrifying thing. We were unexpected. To say that is an understatement. Mom wasn't supposed to have children. A few past actions taken toward her eliminated that possibility; added onto that, a former "brother" of Dad's had determined that his kind couldn't reproduce in the normal way. Something like vampires now that I think about it. A certain angel of Dad's acquaintance defied that conclusion. That angel, Sephiroth, happened to be "working on his penance for the sins he committed in his former life."
