Yet it Became A Fading Memory

A Thought of Sorts

Sometimes we wish for good things to last forever or perhaps we latch onto something for a little bit longer only for that to eventually slip away from our memory. When we truly feel comforted by something we care about, it can make the rest of the world feel more at ease, as if we could finally take a deep breath after so long. However, for every good and bad thing, it eventually must come to an end and it is in that moment we must move on, not only because it's already over, but because we still care for it and want to put it to rest, as to let it turn into a happy fading memory.

Artistic and Other Notes

I am going to say it outright, this is going to be my last art piece with DogDay as well as any other character related to the respective game and here is my reasoning. What ever happened to the project that created his character went south and it showed itself when Chapter 4 dropped. Mob Entertainment, for all the controversy and issues over the years, has finally put the last nail in the coffin to their game. The product they produced is, not to be rude, disastrous. You can't even call it for what it is in terms of the genre. Though I'm not going to go on a rant about how Mob Entertainment made Chapter 4 as that's someone else's purpose, though pulling a clever marketing stunt was certainly something on their behalf.

I wanted to show my appreciation to the art direction and the folks behind the designs of the characters behind this game. For what it's worth, Chapter 3 will probably remain as the best chapter from that game indefinitely, unless they do a 180 with Chapter 5 but, I highly doubt that considering what we were given as a product for Chapter 4. That and a good chunk of the folks who worked on Chapter 3 left Mob Entertainment, not to mention other existing variables that impacted the entire project. Nevertheless, I am thankful for the art that I have made along with making DogDay a comfort character of sorts for myself and others that have drawn him.

In terms of Artistic Notes, I got a bit creative with nature shenanigans while also blending certain colors as well as digital blending techniques, heavy emphasis on color dodge as well as overlay, to create this serene background to bring closure of drawing this silly character. I felt that It was nice way to bring a peaceful end to that whole also showing respect to whoever the original artist of this silly character ultimately was to begin with.
