Wave to the Sky. Does real fractal art have to come out of a computer program? No. If the math is accurate, it can be drawn by hand either in traditional media or on the computer. *micronomicon went the extra mile to ensure not only was his creation beautiful, but mathematically accurate and conceptually mind-blowing. Two words. FREAKIN' AMAZING.

Resolution: 2937x6564 (Uploaded @ 1:3, 1024x2290)
Time: <cough> 300+ hours (due to the resolution)
This is drawn entirely in Photoshop. The foreground is drawn with 2px and 1px pencil brushes and the background is drawn with the help of `adonihs cloud brushes (thanks!).
The fractal geometry is designed by hand and with the help of a calculator. In this case I originally started from a sketch, so I actually had to reverse engineer the math out of the sketch to create a design that was a lot more accurate.
I like creating work that is mirrorable and/or reorientable to different angles and you can see the 90 degree rotation for this work here:
