Every day, on my way to work as an assistant seamstress, i pass a shop.
In it there are many marvelous creatures - scaled phoenixes and feathered snakes.
Sometimes I pop into the shop and look around, and talk to the children floor staff, most of whom are around my age - 15.
But, more than the shimmering fur or the glossy feathers, what has always caught my eye is the small girl in a cage.
Over the four years I've been visiting the shop many creatures have passed from one hand to another, but not her...
She is like me - unwanted.
A child thrown away, sold or made to work.
But times are hard, and one day, the seamstress's shop is forced to close, i now have nowhere to go.
As I walk past the shop, for what might be the last time, i find myself doing the unimaginable - stealing her.
No one notices as I slip the cage with her in it behind my back, no one sees as I walk out of the door like I have every right to.
I turn the corner of the street, before braking out into a run as the adrenalin kicks in.
I try my hardest not to jostle the cage.
Once i reach a deserted ally, I slow down and stop.
I place the cage on the ground, and open the cage door.
"are you OK?" I ask.
I hope that isn't counted as 'frankdolling'? as I have never used basses or dolls before, so I don't know whats what.
I did the work on paint, as I have no fancy software, but I tried my best, and I swear I haven't degraded the lovely quality of your work!
