Lacking So Much Motivation!

For the past year I haven't been motivated to do any personal work as I feel that doing this graphic design course is sucking the motivation and fun out off doing it for myself rather than others and getting the satisfaction of someone liking what I've produce because I seem to put a lot more effort into something I want and like doing. Please let me know what motivates you to do work for others cause I cant seem to find a purpose or satisfaction. I feel that not getting payed for it is a factor.
