Venus wings

Ok, I know, I know - life on Venus is nearly impossible! BUT, what if it would be possible? Maybe in an earlier state of the planets history before it turned into an gigantic oven with thick, toxic atmosphere? Or what if something (or someone) changes the conditions of Venus so that life could flourish?
To be honest this pic was inspired by the Netflix series "The Expanse", where !SPOILER! an asteroid infected by a strange molecule crashes into Venus and starts to change to surface of the planet. A nice and really costly series by the way - I liked it a lot.

This pic tooked me way to long to finish. I completed the lineart one day before christmas and wasnt sure if i should colour it. Fortunately I did . . .

Hope you like it! See you on Venus!

Does the Venus of "The Expanse" have life?

Oh not sure, they're not showing any lifeforms. It could be possible, in seasons 2 happens something to Venus, but i dont want to spoiler more informations 🙈

These are marvelous. Absolutely beautiful. Some appear to be peaceful filter feeders but others are obviously carnivores. Are they to scale, or are the carnivores in the background actually larger? I would love to write these up for Mekton II and/or Mekton Zeta and post it up on the Alien Life reports here on Deviant art with stats and a biological report  if I may?

Oh thanks a lot^^
They are to scale. No prob, you can do it. Do you need any more informations?
Awesome!, now i'm waiting for other life, maybe in Mercury, the Moon, the lesser gas giants like Neptune, moons like Titan, and poor Pluto.

Interesting creature designs.

On life on Venus it has actually been speculated there might live microbes in the planet's upper atmosphere. Conditions up there are far less hellish than the surface and lower parts of the atmosphere.

Have heard the same thing. The question is, is an evolution without surface even possible? Don't you need the components within the earth/ground to build up life? I mean all that elemental stuff...

Perhaps they evolved down on the surface back in the distant past when Venus was still somewhat hospitable and then moved up into the upper atmosphere (similar to how many microbes here on Earth have made a home for themselves high up in Earth's atmosphere) before the runaway greenhouse effect turned the surface and lower atmosphere into the hellish places they are now.

That could be possible

But isn't the upper atmosphere on the planet actually habitable and safe for life? Because I remember NASA purposing a blimp-like spacecraft that would float above the planet's surface
in the area that has near Earth-like conditions.

Thats true, but I'm not sure if life will evolve without a surface... maybe the conditions in that part of atmosphere would be like a liquid, so life could prosper like in earth prehistoric oceans...

That could be possible. I saw this one clip from a National Geographic documentary which discussed scientifically plausible aliens
and what life on other planets with different gravity and atmospheres would be like, and one of the scenarios they danced around
with was life evolving on a planet that have a very watery atmosphere. Not just microbes, but complex multicellular life that literally
swims through this soupy atmosphere.

oh cool, do you know the name of the documentary?
JeditheSciFiFreak's avatar
The clip was taken from a documentary series called "Known Universe" and the episode it was from was called "Alien Contact". The
full episode isn't really available anywhere except for this one website I found called VUDU.
