This Old Dragon... does not scare me at all. He looks exactly like I imagined a character from a book I read a kid. This outstanding capture by *MichiLauke is so technicaly flowless, it looks unreal. ( Suggested by smallSweetie and Featured by hesitation )

this is a green iguana, looks abit sick to me, i used to have one years ago, looking at this, i felt sorry for him, reptiles are neglected by us, sometimes not on purpose, but still awful. Kinda made me angry thinking this one is in a zoo.

My eyes just popped out when they saw this -- the colors are exquisite, how did you manage them? I suppose those were the lizard's natrual coloring. I wouldn't doubt it. You've captured his brilliance beautifully. Great photo!!

I really like the humorous title of this photo, and it's particularly humorous to me because in my Old Country where I came from most of the older people used to chew on this olive-look-a-like green fruit that makes them spit blood-like mess out after they're done. Those addicted and chew often have red-lips stained by those residues, like the Old Dragon. This is incidental, I know, but that's the beauty of this business - the uncertainty of the viewers' interpretation. :D

Where you came from? And please look this Pic: [link] A monk from Thailand "chew on this olive-look-a-like green fruit that makes them spit blood-like mess out after they're done". What kind of fruit is this. Makes it high like drugs! I like your interpretation!!!

I was born and raised in Taiwan, R.O.C. That monk's certainly got the lips. I don't know the fruit's name. It grows from tropical plant that has very shallow roots and looks like palm tree. It is addictive, appearantly, and to the point of very problematic but not illegal. Due to its popularity many mountain sides are cleared to plant them but their shallow roots and rainy tropical island climate often end in land slide. Also that fruit cause cancer to the mouth and throat.

The thumbnail looked so weirdly colorful that I thought this was just another Bryce rendition. :) Nice macro. But somehow this makes me sad; the creature looks so weary.. just look at those things on its back! Looks like it's just woken up. Kinda sad, but nice.

Great shot! Seems pretty rare people take the appreciation of iguanas, lizards, reptiles etc. So the fact you found the beauty and you have no fear for em' is a plus. Keep it up! xD Wish he could pair up with my iguana! Gwah! xD Keep up the great work you.
