Table of Vines

This table was also from the hard rubbish collections... I picked it up, fixed it up and used it to paint on..... Quite a difficult wood to work with as it kept soaking up the oils and making the damn line I'd just drawn almost invisible other than a shadow grrrrr.... some sections of the vines have six layers of paint to make the vine visible instead of sunken into the wood...

A fun experiment and a very interesting progress....

Except for the red back living in the corner crack ;( CREEPY!

Genious idea :o Also, isnt it possible to give it some kind of polishspraythingie that will give a different surface that cannot soak it up?
Michelle-Kowalczyk's avatar
Maybe... I never tried sprays ... next time I will ;) I just sort of uhhhhhhh kept painting over and over again lol... When I see an image in my head I just want to get it out and the errrr details sometimes... well lets just say I'm so focused on painting I forget there are easier things I could try lol

interesting. Makes me wonder why people throw out furniture if it can be restored:} you quite skillfull:>

Yeah, It's amazing the amount of beautiful wood creations get tossed out... Wood has so much potential and not all the wooden furniture tossed is actually junk :) I got my current desk from the rubbish, it's a beautiful pine wood with dark varnish and the only flaw in it was a slightly scratched top.... barely noticeable... but some people arent' very practical and prefer the shiny and new... personaly I think a scratch or two adds character XD hehe

Ps... Nah, I'm not skillful lol... all I did was wing my way through making a slight improvement lol... Didn't even consult a book ;) Yay for flukes of success <3

Me too for an old character:} Somehow modern furniture have less wood in it. You inspired me to furnish my own first dwelling with cheaper old things. But not for now cause I'm living in student house.

;) Yay!!!! Hehe awesome I inspired someone XD

Ps. I know all about student housing .... ah lack of privacy hehe .... But at least its cheap :)
