Description

Top row: Glowberry, rescue flower
Middle row: Sammael's apples, starberry/starry dogwood
Bottom row: Sundrops, veronica

Glowberry: This tall shrub is found throughout the Deep Woods and has violet leaves with silver undersides. It blooms in the spring with tiny glowing blue flowers, producing lavender bioluminescent fruits that resemble grapes, and are eaten by glowbirds. They are the principal ingredient in luminous pigments utilized by deepwoods elves, and making Glowbombs.

Rescue Flower: These flowering vines are common in the Shallows where they are regarded by the elves as interesting but inconsequential flora - the seeds and sap are mildly toxic, causing headache and nausea if ingested in quantity. However, a few crushed petals can be added to a mixture of brandy and holy water to create a tonic used to ward the body against Negative Energy.

Sammael’s Apples: These orange-capped mushrooms resemble apples left on the ground before the caps fully unfurl. Said to be apple seeds dropped by the Wayfarer, these mushrooms are excellent raw or cooked, and can also be brewed with other herbs to make a tea useful for treating Altitude Sickness.

Starberry: These dark purple berries with pale blue seeds grow on starry dogwoods in the Deep Woods. They are harvested for consumption by wilden and feral elves, and only rarely make their way into Ardea. The flavour is said to be a sublime combination of custard, chocolate, and mulberry.

Sundrops: A tall herb that produces a three-foot-tall stalk of yellow flowers from a base of hairy leaves. Viewed as a weed in most urban areas, sundrops are cultivated in rural areas for food and medicine. The seeds in particular are used to make teas used to treat fatigue and restore mental balance.

Veronica: A tiny plant found among other groundcovers, it has thin stalks with lance-shaped leaves and bright purple flowers. It is edible, with a taste similar to watercress, and is rich in vitamins and minerals. If it can be harvested in quantity, it can be brewed into a strong tea used to fight off infections and restore vigor.
