WBY: Barrens hound

Few non-Undead are found beyond the Barrier Mountains, since the muddy terrain and lack of food condemns most living creatures who stray outside of the Basin to starvation. Barrens hounds are exceptions - these vaguely canine aberrations can run on solid ground and burrow through marine mud with ease, while their rubbery hides resist the withering effects of the sun and Negative Energy alike. Packs of barrens hounds pursue mobs of ghouls and zombies across the former ocean bottom, pausing only to feast on the slowest members of the undead herd. It is unknown how they sense their prey and each other, since they are totally blind and deaf.
