The next of the Ken Trio starters for Osai, and a re-working of a very old idea.

Aurasp, the snow snake pokemon
Aurasp is a small fire-type pokemon from the Osai region. Its tail burns with a pale flame, which it uses to keep warm in its mountain home. This pokemon is shy and when startled, will roll over and play dead - not very well it must be said. This tactic can confuse its would-be predator long enough for it to flee, and many trainers find it an endearing behaviour besides. Aurasp mostly hunts for small rodents and insects but its favourite prey are troads. Its fangs, while not venomous, are very strong and can puncture its rocky hide with ease. Aurasp evolves into borealhiss at level 14.

Borealhiss, the snow snake pokemon
Borealhiss is a medium-sized fire-and-ice type pokemon from the far north of Osai. During the day they sleep in crags and fissures in the rocks they build their dens in, emerging by night to hunt. They have a limited ability to float that seems to be tied to the cold fire that enshrouds their bodies. Borealhiss scours the slopes of its home, using its shovel-shaped nose and small but strong claws to move aside rocks to find hibernating pokemon and buried eggs. They are more active on clear nights and tend to stick close to the ground in inclement weather. They can sometimes be seen racing along empty roads, as if chasing the wind. Borealhiss evolves into aurorochi at level 35.

Aurorochi, the cold fire pokemon
Aurorochi is a large fire-and-ice type pokemon from the far north of Osai. The sight of aurorochi twisting through the night sky is a beautiful spectacle, and it seems to serve no practical purpose for the pokemon - they just enjoy the freedom of flying in the cold air. The cold fire that enshrouds their bodies can freeze and desiccate organic matter in moments, so they are not suited to inexperienced trainers. Far from unthinking brutes, aurorochi often spend days in silent contemplation of the world below their lofty mountain homes. While their fury is truly a terrifying spectacle, it is thankfully very rare.
