Again have I remade some old stuff with current level of skill:

Equi-bulls megaton charge. by Miakhano

Craybeast. by Miakhano

There are A LOT of new stuff done in the last two years, but now it's a bit early to publish all of it here.

Now there are two of them.

While I'm remaining working "underground", some of my published stuff made it's way to Daily Deviations. Nice to see that and thanks to people who had a hand in that, including Oleg "Flora" Chistyakov for motivation for creation of this version of space landscape. Pretty unexpected and pleasant, because this depiction of proposed mission #Uranus_Orbiter made in non-popular key unlike my previous DD-awarded art with unicorn mecha.

As masculist activist and fucking SJW...

Another update of old (2008) pic in between working on new stuff. As masculist activist and fucking SJW I just found that I can't look at old "Taurens and humans" any longer. =) Cuz I realize now that I didn't draw what I really wanted at heart, in those times I just limited myself by some stereotypes. Since today I work much-much faster then back in 2008, it was not a big deal to make an update, and yes - I quickly made it. Females on this picture gained more muscle and fat, human female received some scars, males have become smaller and more elegant. I think it makes entire picture more balanced. Tauren female now have tauren legs, not humanized mutant legs. Also I think I made weapons and clothes more suitable to fighters (since all four characters supposed to have militant lifestyle). I think it's cool that human female is only one character without earrings while the most "masculine" character got least amount of scars. Difference between two tauren characters remains to be too big, but I decided not to go too far from 2008 version, cuz it's just an update, not remake. I assume that tauren female Waffuree Khalme is just somewhat younger then male tauren (20+ and 40+), and also she's smaller-then average for female tauren, while this male is of average height. Yep, this is where picture isn't very representative, it would be wiser to keep Waffa for her personal portrayings and to use random-and-average tauren woman for pictures like this, but again - I made an update of this picture, not remake. Back in 2008 I decided to use Waffa to represent tauren females on this sheet, so be it.

Well well well, looks like I'm about to get 30K pageviews in next several hours. Never paid much attention to counters of my gallery, so only now I'm realized that different people still visit my gallery despite my inactivity in recent years. That's another motivation to finish The Big Update as soon as possible. I checked out my "todo" list, 26% of work left. Thats close to finish, but not as easy as it seems, keeping in mind that I have to open group in Vkontakte (russian social network) before I'll bring The Big Update here. Strong!

Anyway, there is another little update of very old work named Heart of Kalimdor, which is still important to me. I've noticed that those widescreen landscape was not up to my current works by amount of details and even by size in pixels (of file-to-publish-on-internet). And what is worse, It had problem with geometric perspective of the road, it appeared as bending toward the viewer. Sherlock HolmesSo having recovery at home after a nasty flu, I took nearly four hours to refine it. Here is the result:

Stay tuned, The Big Update is on the way! I'm hungry...Get in my belly!

I prepare The Big Update of my gallery for many months already. Months? No, for years, given that the last artwork was published here three years ago. Since promised update is so delayed, today I post an announcement or rather "a teaser" - a new picture in in the genre of space landscape, new for me.

"Guest of a seventh planet" is an attempt to imagine one of NASA's future missions named "Uranus orbiter". It's a compromise between strict scientific reliability and pure fantasy, which depicts Uranus itself surrounded by faint rings, three smaller moons and new artificial one which is the probe itself. Imaginary observer stands on big moon named Miranda, which has crooked and mangled surface.

There is a "more reliable" version:

Guest of a CALM seventh planet. by Miakhano

In appendage, here is the probe itself on enlarged fragment of the picture so you can see the machine better. It's design is based on the New Horizons probe...

...and of course, "making it" animation in GIF format.

In the last few months I have experienced a strange disease which put me off my stride. Persistent pain in the neck and back (and later - in all muscles), fever, sensory disturbances, blurred vision, awful weakness - in general, a lot of extremely unpleasant things. =) Initially I was diagnosed with spinal hernia and tonsillitis, but finally it turned to be some bigger thing... Did you ever heard about CFS? Well, a lot of people heard about it, but few knows what really nasty shit is it. X) I felt myself like 100-years oldie. That disease may start due to a chronic lack of sleep, wrong lifestyle, infections, and some more trigger causes. And it lasts from six months to seven years. In my case, there have been all trigger causes in the same time and the disease lasted eight months. Now I 80% recovered, thanks god.

Temporarily non-functional.

Truly, I am one of a kind moron, who rare but regularly loses current progress in Photoshop by following silly way:

1. Saving current progress as HISTORY SNAPSHOT!
2. Making some secondary version (i.e. sheet of coloring variants with much lower resolution and merged layers) in THE SAME document window and planning to return back with help of that snapshot.
3. Saving secondary version with other filename (not using "Save as a copy", but using "Save as!!!" command).
4. Habitually closing document with a sense of satisfaction from the success of the work performed. Secondary picture is done. Let's return to work on main picture now!
5. Discovering, that my snapshot is sent to hell. Main picture is lost. Of course, snapshots exist only in RAM during work session. They are not included into PSD files.
6. Banging my head on the table.

It would be a good episode to the sequel of "Dumb and dumber".

I wanted to post a lot of new and shiny artworks and comissions at 29'th February, but I failed that deadline. Everything is "on the way to finish", but still are far from finish. I even planned "Plan B" - to finalize just one, only one of that artworks to that date. "Plan B" is also lost - I came home from work only now (late evening in Russia), deadly tired and can only cook my supper before Morpheus take over me. :) Well, I don't like it. Nobody likes to fail deadlines. I just got to accept - I am slowpoke.

I know, it's not very reasonable decision to remake vastly a picture, that already has received Daily Deviation award. Many people have seen first version on DD section, shared it, gave favs to it, and now it's gone and replaced with something completely different - more bizzare and quite different in composition. But I am sure, that improvement of skills and correcting deficiencies is the more important thing, and it should have priority. In short, today I finally found time to remake it all to hell.

It's hard for me to evaluate my work immediately after finishing. So I have to return and remake my pictures long after.

Three things to do.

Well, I have to do three things - to fix most of my ready works (as far as they have weaknesses), to finish all my sketches and... AGAIN to finish all my sketches (there are a lot of them). I spend enough time on this, but my efficiency could be better. So many unfinished stuff! Also... it would be nice to improve my page here at Deviantart - to add CSS and so on, but this is ... just gadgets and can wait.

Just now I discovered that I have been qualified as "artist" by default, because I did not enter my own option. Can you imagine the essence of "artist"? Can you imagine that this is not the name by which anyone can be easily called? Many creators of tolerable fan-art consider themselves artists, yes. I can not deny. But I can at least be honest to myself. What the hell I'm an artist? I am an amateur draftsman without education and without mature conception. This is not duplicity, honestly disgusted to call myself an artist. Iliya Repin, Aivazovsky - they are artists, not me.

Faster, harder!

Congratulations to all on the time palindrome. :)

Not very much fun to keep in mind that in my "closet" are dozens of unfinished works. Several dozen, dammit! I'm such a moron that I can not sit down and draw a picture from beginning to end. It is hard for me to concentrate. Some pictures are close to finish, but may lie in this condition for ages. One is stuck at the stage of "almost ready" from last year, another one from 2008, another - from 2006!!! Such is my style of work which has developed over time, it is unlikely I will be able to change it, but do not stop trying to be still a little faster.
