Considering how long I've been a member of the 3D art community, you'd think I'd have a pretty sizable gallery by now.  Truth is, I noodle around with DAZ nearly every day but don't keep most of my work.  They're just one-offs I throw together to pass the time while fantasizing about a gallery full of digital graphic novels.  That's been the story of my life as an artist since learning about DAZ in 2006.  I look in wonder at some of the most complex, fleshed out stories I've ever seen and the moment I think about doing that much work myself, I already feel exhausted.  I'm pretty sure the perfectionist in me is to blame.  I know how much time and effort would be needed to create something I'd feel proud enough of to share and I'd likely drive myself nuts trying to decide when I was done with just one render.

In any event, I bought a new trench coat for Genesis 8 Male the other night and redesigned my concept of a telekinetic serial killer.  I came up with idea of a super-powered killer last year after getting tired of messing with contact points between figures.  It is a royal pain in the ass creating realistic indentations in every part of a character's mesh that comes in contact with another figure.  Hair is especially annoying to work with when brushing up against another figure, so I said, "Fuck it, no one's touching anyone anymore".  Besides, I love the idea of female characters being telekinetically strangled to death so this works for me.  The previous version of my killer wore a 3-piece suit that didn't like extreme poses without tearing under the armpits and I didn't want to have to fix them in post whenever I used it in a project so I put the idea on the back burner and waited for something better to come along.  Well, it did, and, coupled with a new set of masks I bought a few weeks ago, I think this outfit looks a helluva lot more menacing.

Now.  I hope I'll finally start creating those graphic novels I always fantasize about but I'm not promising anything.  Only time and my artistic desire will tell but I'm definitely very happy with my new killer.

There's no story behind this render.  I just wanted to show off my new killer in a dynamic scene attacking a random victim instead of my original plan to pose him against a plain back drop.

Necrophil2005  is right. You're short-changing yourself, mate!

And stories need not be hugely extended to work. A four-five picture story is a perfectly nice media as well. Short stories rather than "Crime and punishment", you know.
