Fri Aug 14, 2009, 4:44 PM

So I decided it was time for a little profile update. I picked up this awesome Journal CSS from LeMex I still haven't heard back on whether I can use a modded version, so hopefully he doesn't mind! Also, Thanks to everyone for checking out and downloading my two new releases... I'm glad everyone likes the new Walls. Nurv Wallpaper Pack… and Ossom Blossom™ Wallpaper Pack…

Holy Page Views, Batman!

Mon Aug 3, 2009, 2:18 PM

20,000... thats a lot of page views... So thank you to everyone for stopping by!

I finally decided it was time to head off to college. I'll be starting this October at the Art Institute of Vancouver. I'm really excited to start classes, and just dive right in. It'll be an adjustment though, I've spent the last four years working in the industry, as well as doing freelance design, so I'm a little anxious about going to school at this point. However, I don't regret waiting this long, if I had gone to college right after high school, I wouldn't have had the opportunity to get real-world experience. Something thats very attractive to employers. I guess thats my advice to anyone who's maybe in high school, or isn't quite sure what they want to do with their lives... take time to find yourself! I waited 6 years since I graduated, and now I know this is what I want to do for a living. Anyway I'm rambling....

Peace out, and thanks for the page views!

New Wallpaper

Journal Entry: Mon Mar 2, 2009, 9:59 PM

New Work Soon!

Hey guys...

I'm working on some new icons, which should be released shortly. I've been meaning to do some icon work, but I've been very busy with work, which is good I guess, but it's not always the most enjoyable. I'm also working on getting ready to move to Vancouver in the summer to attend school, so that's taking up a lot of my time.

Anyway, until I get around to releasing new icons, I've whipped up a quick wallpaper pack, while not an original idea, I though some of you might have a use for them! It's based on the RealMac Software wallpaper, but jazzed up a bit! Check it out and let me know what you think!

I'm Still Here

Journal Entry: Tue Feb 10, 2009, 3:03 PM

I'm Not Dead

I Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm still here... I've taken a bit of a hiatus from my personal endeavours to focus on my job and to take a bit of a break. I've been working so much in this past year, but I now feel I need to devote more time to personal design and freelance.

So I'm back in full swing and I have some goodies that I will be releasing shortly, so stay tuned!

Talk about bad luck

Journal Entry: Wed Apr 16, 2008, 5:05 AM

Bad Luck...

Just want to give a shout out to all my watchers, downloaders, and commenters! I appreciate your support, and feedback... almost 6000 page views!!!

I don't know if you remember awhile back when I was telling you guys about the problems I was having with my iMac. To make a long story short. I baught an iMac late September of 2006, and had nothing but trouble with it. I had to have the video card replaced, and the HD replaced, both on seperate occasions. Well About a month ago I was waist deep in work, had deadlines to meet, when my HD decided to fail me again, my new one... the one I had replaced previously!! Luckily I was able to salvage my files, but the computer was pretty well useless. Because I couldn't afford to wait to have the machine repaired (I live 2 hours from the nearest repair centre) and because I failed to purchase Applecare, I decided to just bite the bullet and buy a new iMac (with Applecare). Luckily my employer helped me out with the new computer, I'm just making payments on it.

Well It's been about a month, I've had no problems with the new machine, everything is cool until yesterday. I come home from work to find my machine won't wake up... I turned off the computer, but when I turned it back on, however, I noticed an odd burning plastic smell, and a puff of smoke billows out the top of my iMac. I Immediately turned it off, and called the Mac store.

Now I have to take my computer into get serviced this morning, I have no idea what's been damaged in the machine, or if my files are salvageable. I absolutely sick over the entire situation. I'm a loyal Apple customer, but in just over a year, I've purchased two iMacs, both have seen severe problems.. which is complete and utter crap. If they can't fix my computer today, I'm  demanding a new machine...

I hope everything works itself out... wish me luck with getting this thing fixed.

Also I just noticed that my Journal CSS doesn't display properly in Explorer... just freakin great... :( let me know if you have problems with it.

5000 Page Views!

Just want to give a shout out to all my watchers, downloaders, and commenters! I appreciate your support, and feedback... 5000 page views!!!

I got a bunch a things I'd like to start working on, unfortunately I won't have a lot of time this month as I'm in the process of finding a new apartment, and moving.

Once I'm nice and settled in my new place, I want to start work on a Mac system replacement set... I'll keep you guys posted when I start working on it! Also I've begun the process of rebranding my freelance business. I'm looking into getting a website. I can design, but I can't code. If anyone is willing or knows someone who is willing to do some CSS/Web Design (I can pay) let me know!!

Wow... Thanks!

Journal Entry: Wed Mar 26, 2008, 6:36 PM
:wow: Wow... Almost 5000 page views, thanks everyone! I've gotten a lot more feedback than I would of expected... I really didn't think my work was that great compared to the amazing designers within this community, but mostly because I'm basically self taught in design. I learned Photoshop and Flash in High School, it was pretty basic stuff, but I fell in love with graphics. I was amazed with what you can create... basically anything you can imagine. I got really lucky and landed a design position at a newspaper... and since then I've been strapped to my mac, photoshop installed... even though I haven't been a GUI designer for very long, I'm really excited to share with you all in my quest for design greatness...

Also I just wanted to give a shout out to everyone for the bitchin' comments on my recent deviations... I thank you very much for those. Glad you dig it!

Peace, Love & Soul,

all this small talk is nice but it be nice to actually get to know some of you better... what's your story, where you from?... What inspires you? Are you an artist or an aficionado? You know, that sort of thing!

New Set-Up

Journal Entry: Sun Mar 16, 2008, 5:26 PM

Alright, so I got my new system set-up, and after a little work, I got Leopard installed again on my old iMac and have started using it as a second monitor, and Time Machine  back-up. Works really nicely using ScreenRecycler. With all this extra screen space, I'd better get working on some goodies for everyone!

Thanks again to Kon for that bitchin' wall... it even looks good stretch across my screen!

The Worst Possible Thing

Journal Entry: Thu Mar 13, 2008, 7:45 AM
Sorry everyone, I've been falling behind on the releases lately.. I've just been very busy with work. Anyway, I had some free time last night, which doesn't come along often, so I thought I'd work on some projects I've been wanting to start. I sit down at my computer after doing about 11 hours in the office only to find that my computer won't start up, I hear it start up, but I don't get my screen to turn on. I've had this problem happened in the past, so I thought, "Meh, it'll go back to normal..." after a about an hour of restarts, I finally pop in the install DVD and start it up... My screen turns back on and the installer starts. I run Disk Utility and begin a permission repair which fails, Disk repair fails, Archive and install fails... then the HD won't even show up... I can't exactly erase and install because I've got some important stuff on my HD (of course) sadly I hadn't set up my Time Capsule yet, and therefore.... no back-up for moi... Only some stuff I have on my iPod...

I bought my 24" iMac last september, I've sent it in for a repair twice, had the HD replaced and the video card replaced... Normally I would just send it in again, but time is money, and getting a Mac repaired when you live two hours from the closest repair center isn't exactly quick. Last repair took about a month! I've got a huge project for the City.... a bunch of small ads, and a couple brochures to do... some of which needs to be done by the end of the month...

I had no choice but to order a new iMac, which I'll get this weekend, but until then... I definitely won't have anything to share with all of you.. On the upside, I'll have a shiny new iMac for my desk....

Also, just wanted to thanks everyone for my 3000 page views, wish I had more stuff to showcase though...

Peace, Love & Soul

Keepon No Mo

Journal Entry: Tue Mar 4, 2008, 8:48 AM
Hi Guys,

I've unfortunately had to remove the Keepon icon after I received an e-mail this morning from the programmer of the Keepon Robot. While I didn't think there would be anything wrong with it, It's understandable and the e-mail was very polite, so for now, No Keepon. He did say he'd like to make him available, so there's still hope!!

Just an Update

Journal Entry: Mon Mar 3, 2008, 7:14 PM
Hey everyone,

It's hard to believe it's March, time really flies. I've been so bogged down with work, it's seems I have no time to design... three brochures, a sixteen page booklet and catalogue, and six ads by the end of the month... PURE INSANITY, PEOPLE!! I did however managed to squeeze in time for my cute little Keepon icon... speaking of which... I wanted to convert him into an Adium icon, which I've learned is rather easy, however... my custom Keepon Adium dock icons are really pixelated (note image)
Adium Issue

The PNG is 128px... and everything seems as it should be... it's really frustrating!!

If you have any idea WTF is the problem, please, let me know

I'm hoping to get some time to work on new projects soon, and finish the god forsaken adium icon...

Thanks for all the comments and feedback on my work...

Once again I just want to give a little shout out to you all for you for your kinds words on my Deviations... I really appreciate it! I'm really happy to be making Icons, it's a great way for me to stay up on my skills, and share with this awesome community... :horns:

Ok, so since I've started this whole icon shiz (which I'm now addicted too) I thought I'd just ask you guys... what kind of icon would you like to see. I'm still a newb when it comes to icons, not sure what I should do next, I know it'll be something interesting. I'm asking all of you, because, you all know best... Anything you can think you'd like to see icon-ized, shoot it my way!

Shoe Release Soon... Last Thoughts?

Journal Entry: Sat Feb 23, 2008, 4:54 PM
Hey Everyone... So I've been working on "The Shoe" icon, with hopes of incorporating it into this icon set I'm working... but a couple people asked if I could release just the shoe, with various color combinations. I thought about it, and while I had some ideas in my head for the icon pack, I thought, what the hell... So right now I'm finishing up the various colors, and plan to release these shoe icons to everyone to enjoy very soon. If anyone has any last critiques or comments, let me know.

I'm still an amateur when it comes to icons, but like all my design work, whether its a brochure I'm designing for a client, or an ad through my job... I treat it as my art, I put a lot of thought into it, and give it a lot of love, these icons are no different. I'm sure they won't appeal to some as a traditional icon, but I'm not making icons simply because everyone will use them, I'm creating icons because I enjoy it, and I want to share that with anyone I can. Art is about invoking feelings in people, good feelings, bad feelings, feelings of sadness or even fear, art is not about looking at something and thinking "oh that's pretty" It has to resonate with you, you have to feel it... I hope you enjoy my creations, as much as I enjoyed creating them!

I think I can do this, but I want my site to be attractive, my biggest fear is I get a Web Host, domain, give them my crediat card info, then I'm in a contract for 2 years, with a domain, and no website to go with it, because I'm spending monthes putting it together!!
