[ SwapDust : Rage And Nightmares ] Execution.

As some of you already know me and David got ownership of Kurbo's SwapDust take around 8 months ago.

It took a while but remake is finally here.

(Now the take is officially called "SwapDust: Rage and Nightmares" as a reference to the original post's name btw)

|Backstory|

Papyrus would start seeing glimpses of previous timelines through nightmares: good endings, bad endings and anything in-between, always growing more and more severe.

Until at some point the visions became unbearable, revealing to him the events caused by the human in each timeline prior.

Papyrus could barely remember the last good dream he had, he grew restless, shaken by nightmares that led him to severe insomnia, he decided he had to intervene in some way.

He tried everything he could think of to put a stop to the threat: warning the royal guard, fighting along-side strong allies, telling the queen herself or even leading the evacuation.

Nothing worked, it always led to his death, the death of everyone, and the restart of the cycle.

In some timelines he even attempted to reason with the human, asking them what their goal was and why they kept going, however he never got a reply.

Having run out of options he became desperate for a solution, trying to analyse what gave them the edge over everyone and allowed them to so easily slaughter their whole kind.

The power they gained when killing was the key, that was what allowed them to persevere, a power anyone could grasp if only willing to do so.

And as much as he hated it, that was when Papyrus had a new idea…

|-Papyrus-|

-Called “Execution!Papyrus”

-His jacket is filled with tally marks, each line representing a monster killed

-His clothing is usually torn by the end but just how much changes from timeline to timeline

-Can either wear boots or shoes, how the boots looks can vary as well

-Wears his hood up to avoid other monsters looking directly at his face, wants to distance himself from what he’s doing as much as he can

-Often highly stressed, killing can help him vent his frustration but he also hates feeling positively about about that leading to even more stress

-Stopped smoking after fire-related trauma (more on that near the end), uses toothpicks in place of cigarettes

-Has anger issues, tries to keep them at bay which doesn’t always work out but most often he’s just tired and dead inside

-In battle, his eye would normally show a white pupil, representing his emptiness

-His stats would increase the more LOVE he gains, still doesn’t have KR

-When enraged his eye would turn orange (representing Bravery) and red (representing his new-found Determination), lost the yellow part (Justice)

-Says “we are both just SOULLESS” when confronting the human, actually enjoys seeing them die

-His attacks would also reflect his empty nature with his blasters’ colour becoming less saturated

-He can use either orange or blue bones depending on your headcanon, same thing applies to the colour of his blood

-His hand weapon of choice would be a long metal pipe, taken from the tall sink in his house

-He’s able to change attack patterns every time the human reloads, would also try to use the environment to his advantage

(like using water in Waterfall to blind the human temporarily or lava in Hotlands to burn them)

-Lost any sense of care for anyone outside of his immediate circle, he still cares about the suffering of his brother and close friends but he would no longer feel horrible for killing random monsters after doing it over and over

-Kills Sans early in most timelines as he doesn’t wanna prolong his suffering

-Still loves pranks, though they turned less into pranks and more intro deadly traps

-Likes watching TV shows while waiting for the human, they help him calm down

-Big fan of sweet (often alcoholic) drinks found at Muffet’s, his favourite is still honey though

-Has severe insomnia due to horrible nightmares

-Can’t steal other monsters’ attacks but he could imitate them with bones

-Does not have green eyes or bones, nor does he scream at the top of his lungs that it’s all just a game

-Does not know where the 6 human souls reside, nor wants anything to do with them, one human is already plenty enough for him

-In one timeline he experimented with killing using fire, this lead to him witnessing first hand many people burn alive, including Sans, which is the reason he stopped smoking

-The only way he could “win” is if the human quit, leaving him in an empty world alone

-Can’t travel to other AUs alone but if he met him, he’d be besties with SwapNegative Papyrus

They’d call each other by nicknames, being Exe (SD) and Rook (SN)

-Due to the unfinished nature of Underswap, most unknown details are left up to personal interpretation
