📦 Installation

Download the latest version from the here.

• Install Rainmeter

  • winget install Rainmeter.Rainmeter

• Install the skin by double-clicking the .rmskin file and follow the steps in the installer.

• Load any of the styles from rainmeter.

🔧 Supported Players

SquarePlayer supports every application that makes use of the System Media Transport Controls API out of the box. For the full list of supported applications, please refer to this list.
Browser based applications require WebNowPlaying browser plugin to be installed on your browser. All major streaming sites such as Youtube Music, SoundCloud and many more are supported. For the full list of supported sites, please refer to this list.

🤔 FAQ

The following applications don't fully make use of Window's SMTC API, however this can be overcome by installing the appropriate plugin for your application:
MusicBee, AIMP, DeaDBeeF, iTunes, VLC, Winamp, MPV, Netease Cloud Music

✨What's new in v3.5 (2026/03/04)?

• Adaptive Windows theme and accent color: Users no longer need to manually set theme and accent color. SquarePlayer now automatically matches your Windows theme and accent color on launch and any change to Windows settings will be reflected in SquarePlayer dynamically.

• Adaptive Windows scaling: Users no longer need to manually set scaling every time they switch monitors. SquarePlayer now automatically matches your primary monitor scaling on launch and will dynamically change if changed in Windows settings.

• 3 New styles to choose from: Blank, Square and Round

🐛Known Issues

• Shuffle and Repeat buttons are bugged on some players

• WebNowPlaying browser extension sometimes crashes Rainmeter. You can still control browser players with the extension disabled but some functionalities like Shuffle and Repeat won't work.
