Description
The next Greek "god" addition to my "Striker" series, Athena! The "goddess" of wisdom, courage, inspiration, civilization, law and justice, strategic warfare, mathematics, strength, strategy, the arts, crafts, and skill... yeah, she personified a lot of things. ^^
UPDATE: I updated Athena's pose, wings and armor.
Athena is the oldest child of Zeus, who sired her with Metis, his first wife. While Metis was giving birth, Zeus received a prophecy that any son Metis bore him would defeat him. This terrified Zeus, more than he would ever admit. So when he received news that his child had been born, he approached with great trepidation...
...only to feel immense relief to discover that Metis had given him a daughter.
Zeus then killed Metis to prevent her from ever bearing him any sons. ^^ He hid this information from his daughter, who would grow up to become his favorite child. She was very much Daddy's Little Girl.
For my series, I made Athena into a Little Owl, as that's the specific animal the original Athena was associated with. I also did my best to make her look as beautiful and sexy as possible, because the original Athena at some point competed with Hera and Aphrodite in a beauty contest. You don't compete with the queen of the gods and the goddess of love if you aren't sure of your own good looks. ^^
However, I also did my best to give her a build that'd be suitable for somebody who "fights on the front lines," which is yet another thing Athena was known for. Athena is the tallest and most muscular of all my goddess characters. She also has gray eyes, which is something the original Athena was known for.
Here's the original version:
Also, here's how the new version looks without her helmet:

There is always room for improvements. Even if it's just changing the pose.
She looks more confident and ready for a battle. She has the 'bring it on!' look.
