2016, June. Sennelier black and silver inks on 21x29.7cm Durex 200g Schoellershammerpaper.

I had a mind to create something about the early to mid 19th century and was thus reflecting on the hard conditions of life back then, with death of the youngs as a recurrent theme in a lot of the literature of the time which I’m so fond of. Dwelling on the subject led me to this piece.

By the way! I'm very grateful for the people that visit my page here, being currently the only proof I have that my art is appreciated by total strangers. It's the best! Everywhere else, I seem to reach only a very close circle of friends and family, maybe one illustration in ten going beyond that "wall". I'm far from delivering my stuff on a regular basis, it just takes so much time for me to make one piece. On the internet there's that rule that constancy is rewarded while scarceness doesn't pay off at all. But I could never make quicker pieces, sketches and the like… Well. Let's just say that if any of you is in the mood for sharing my art amongst your own remote circle, I most certainly wouldn't oppose!
