prismacolor colored pencils on bristol.

this is literally the 7th time i tried coloring it. i'm still not 100% happy with it, but after 7 tries i decided this was probably the best i could do.

the line art is by :iconmandala-jim:

thanks! yeah, i don't know exactly what makes it a mandala, but they all seem to be basically round, very detailed, very symmetrical. there is a whole folder of mandalas in :iconthe-shapists:.

the purple green combo is one of my favorites, too! :)

me too! as you know i'm an atheist, but looking at that sort of thing almost seems like a spiritual experience. my dad who is a retired historian and lives part of the time in brighton, says he loves to just touch old mansions and cathedrals or existing turdor houses or victorians, etc. is like a religious experience for him too. i remember the first time i went to eurpoe we went to brussels and when we went into the grande place there where all the ancient fancy buildings like the town hall and a church etc. was and sat at an outside table and drank beer (i was only 12, lol!) and there was a big flower market in the middle of the cobblestone square. it was amazing! a whole new world. i'd never seen anything like it. :)

i wish i lived in brighton, too! if i could, i'd live in the u.k. and brighton is an awesome place. they have a flat about 2 blocks from the stony beach. i love the way you can walk everywhere. things here are so far apart, there's hardly anywhere close enough to walk to. so much time in the car! that's something i've always loved about the uk and europe. you could easily live in a neighborhood or village that you could walk to most of the places you wanted to go to. the bus system there is quite good and it's really easy to walk to the british rail station from their house. yeah, there are definitely some cobblestones in several places. they actually live in hove, but that's pretty much the same thing. they always walk into town, pretty much everyday. unfortunately my stepmother owns the house and it's going to be for her daughters, but i sure wish it was going to be given to me! that's a really morbid thought, tho. eek!
