I dearly wish he wasn’t a meme since people assume I’m joking... BUT I really can’t tell you how much this character means to me. I’ve always had a special place in my heart for the powerless character in the series full of powers, but he stood out immediately with his smug but honorable and passionate personality. His loyalty and desire to be helpful despite the fact that he’s unqualified really resonated with me and really like that he finds alternate ways of being of use to his friends. I relate to him so much and I hope to be just as kind, loyal and supportive to the people around me for the rest of my life.
Not everyone has to be an action hero. Just being yourself is sufficient if you have the right heart!

I always loved him, even if I thought he was just a funny guy at first. But he really grew on me as Phantom Blood went and when Battle Tendencies started and I saw how much he cared for Joseph and Erina, stepping up to Jonathan's place so he could provide for his friend's family? Oh man, that was it, I was smitten by him! He's so good and he's so kind and he's so resourceful, I mean he made the Speedwagon Foundation essentially by himself! What a man! X3
I share your sentiment wholeheartedly, Speedwagon didn't need to be the ultimate badass to be awesome. He did everything he could and remained true to himself and ended up being more awesome than most badasses in the series, because of who he was, not what he could do.
