It’s been a while since I drew a new Disney warrior princess. It’s supposed to snow tonight so I thought ‘hey I should draw some Frozen fan art'..so I did .
At this point I am done working on the Disney Princess Warriors on my time. The option is available for people to commission me to continue to Disney Princess Warrior still.
It took me a day...which really was with me working on it when I wasn't walking away from my computer every other minute to do other things. The princess drawing process for me is a little different...My usual drawing process for anyt other piece is usually rough sketch - 2nd pass rough sketch - lining - color - fix everything wrong line and color . But for the princess drawings it goes rough sketch - color....it's a frustrating process that I tell myself every time to not do again and yet I still do it. I think it's because when I started this series I drew them all that way so I feel to make sure they all look similar I keep drawing it in the same fashion. I don't know. I do know the next warrior princess may look a little different style rise.....I must break the line of frustration.....but knowing me I probably won't
There's a lot of rhythm and repetition in the hair alone and on both figures, nice. I love their expressions. Cunning, cute, and all the while merciless, Elsa's is especially smug, which I adore. Your amazing color choice and incredible fashion taste combine to make a delightfully divine outfit for both these figures. Remarkable. A very splendid job, well done!
If I could steal a moment of your time I'm rather curious about something. You hid the left leg behind the right on the right figure, Elsa. Did you perhaps draw the entire leg and then erase away where it was necessary? I do that a lot in the rough sketch to a get an understanding of where things go, but I wonder if it's wise or too time consuming. I know it creates parallelism, but I don't know how important that is the final piece. You're wiser than me, could you tell me your opinion, if I'm not stealing away precious moments from you that is.
Yep I drew the full bodies for both in the rough sketch. Which made it a little hard to read when I was working on the second pass rough sketch. You can actually see in the drawing I'm missing a part of Anna's foot behind Elsa's foot. I didn't even notice that until a couple of days later after I posted it....oh well...it happens . It's always good to draw the full body of all the characters in a drawing just to know your not breaking the realty of the character bodies to much. I mean "fudging" it a little is fine...but there is a point of going to far .
Interesting. For one who exaggerates normally, you pay great respect to anatomy. That's good to see. Thank you for the advice, I greatly appreciate it.
great picture!!
Coming soon to Steam, PS4, Xbox One, Mac, Linux, & PC.
Are you gonna do more Warrior Princesses?
