People in Egypt have a wide variety of skin tones, from very dark to very light due to their proximity to the Levant, Europe and of course the rest of Africa. It's a pretty common misconception that to be African, you need to be 'black', which is pretty ignorant(and a bit racist) if you think about it.(plus their gods, so they could look however the artist likes really ^^)

Well, the question is why are they all white ? I mean, the artist does what they want, but I personally wouldn't represent japanese gods as caucasians or norse gods as black people.
Oh, and a big part of Ancient Egypt was what's now Sudan, so ancient egyptians were more likely to have dark skin than light skin.

hey
those just look awesome :O you are an amazing artist :) truly Inspirational work!
It be awesome if you could do Three Gods from Georgian Mythology (of course if it would be interesting for you),  statues were destroyed in 4th century and we have only rough description of them :() there is still no accurate drawings of them.
Gods names are Armazi (Main God), Gatsi and Gaim (Deities).
Armazi - "a man of bronze standing: attached to his body was a golden suit of chain-armour, on his head a strong helmet; for eyes he had emeralds and beryls, in his hands he held a sabre glittering like lighting, and it turned in his hands." he was god who could control weather, he was in charge of son and was the ruler over the world.
Gatsi and Gaim "
there stood another image, made of gold, with the face of a man. Its name was Gatsi, and on the left of it was a silver idol with a human face, the name of which was Gaim" they governed "all of mysteries."
I know it's really not much but if you'd do them It be great. anyways thanks for your great breathtaking art :)

Thank you for your kind words :)

I'm sorry to hear that the statues depicting the Gods from Georgian Mythology were destroyed. Such a shame. :(

Because of my tight schedule I actually do not take requests. Everyone has something they want drawn and I just don't have the time to make that happen for free if I want to make sure I can keep rent up. If you are interested in commissioning me to draw these three characters then feel free to do so. My commission info can be found on my main page. :D

Love the interpretation, especially Sobek and Nut's hair! So, we have Shu holding Nut above the earth, Sobek (who I can't help but imagine lazily shifting between human and crocodile forms as whim takes him), Anubis (assuming by the feathers in the hair representing his duty with the weighing of the heart), and ... sorry, this pantheon's not my strong suit, I'm completely lost on the fellow to the far right. Would you mind explaining his inspiration?

Hope you're inspired to do more of these in future!

Thank you for your kind words :D

Actually the one with the feather hair was inspired by Horus. But yea I can see how Anubis can be assumed as the inspiration as well. ;) The character on the far right was inspired by Khnum. One of the main things I got out of his description was him being a "protector" so I tried to make his stance seem strong. :D

Ah, I wondered if it might have been Horus. I had a 50/50 chance of guessing right. :-)

Thank you for expanding my knowledge of Egyptian gods! I had never heard of Shu or Khnum before this piece!

I love The Crocodile man, you draw something people don't see about the Crocodile god SOBEK, he is asociated with fertility and additionally as a protective deity.
