Vaquita the most endangered cetacean in the world by memuco Vaquita the most endangered cetacean in the world by memuco
The Vaquita is a small Porpoise that lives in the Gulf of California. it is estimated that only between 150 to 240 indivuduals remain. but probably less since the mortality rate in fishing nets per year is 39.

feel free to share this repost re-blog, put it on facebook. just don't change anything.

In all my life I would never say I had a favorite artist until now.
Maybe it is knowing what is happening to the animals you portray, but I think it is mostly the intimacy between "The Silent One" and the animals that brings tears to my eyes.
You are bringing to life and giving expression to a deep sadness that dwells inside me now.  I thought I was following wildlife issues, but had no idea that the Vaquita were so endangered.  I've been in a panic and haven't known how to unload the grief.  And not just for the vaquita, but for the Northern White Rhino, for the Baiji, and for all the others we may never know and now never see.  For the unraveling that is happening before our eyes.
Thanks for bringing those feelings to life.

This is beautiful.  I live in Tucson.  I'd love to buy this as a poster to hang in the hallway at my school.  Is that possible?  I don't see it in the prints.
