I recently attended a nine-week Basic Drawing course at The Art League in Alexandria, Virginia.  I posted entries after each session in my blog , including photos of my work.  I uploaded my favorites here to dA but this is everything.  Feel free to check it out, make comments, give suggestions.  Or just check out the entire set sans commentary.

I've recently gotten into mailart, specifically handmade postcards.  I'm not sure what attracts me to it, but I can't seem to stop.  Maybe it's the "instant gratification" aspect - I can finish a postcard in an hour or two.When I make a postcard, I go through the following process: sketch with pencil on blank postcard, photocopy, ink, photocopy, color with colored pencils and/or pen, cut to size, affix to another blank postcard (with gluestick and scotch tape - I'm an amatuer), and send.  The first photocopy is in case I mess up the inking; the second to save me time if I (a) mess up the coloring, or (b) want to use the same base design mu...

I won't be updating this much, but I figure I might as well introduce myself.  I'm 26 years old (what's that, about 63 in internet years?), and work as an enginerd near Washington, DC, USA.I am a novice.  There is no denying that.  I have been drawing for most of my life, but only recently decided I wanted to learn how to draw well.  I joined dA with the hope of improving my skills, even if I get nothing more out of it than motivation to practice more.I draw with pencil.  That's it.  I've never learned to paint, use charcoals, or do amazing things with Photoshop.  I am also far too dependent on my eraser to attempt ink just yet.  Give me t...
