Immersion and Emersion

I'm finally done with thesis, and finishing (and starting) a few pictures that have been hanging around my head for a while. This one turned out to be all about the positive and negative space, and not about the figure at all, as I'd originally sketched.

Edit: Fooled around with it a bit more, and uploaded a version that makes better narrative sense, with better pacing. The original can still be found on my tumblr, scloutier.tumblr.com.
