Updates + Froi of the Exiles

Been awhile since I updated, but I would like to say thank you for the recent Finnikin of the Rock fanart submissions! Don't usually get much activity on here, so it was great to see that.

In other news, Froi of the Exiles was released in Australia back in October 2011. The US edition will be released March 13, 2012. However, if you are a book reviewer who has an ereader OR who can read ebooks on the computer, then you have a chance to read Froi of the Exiles EARLY through a great site called NetGalley. First! A few months ago I created a Melina Marchetta fan page called 132 Minutes where I basically keep fans up-to-date on MM-related news and info. (Although, I have yet to update this year... I'm working on a new post now!) I'm pretty happy with it, and I was even more happy when I found out that Melina Marchetta loved the name.

So basically, while the gallery will continue to be updated, this will probably be the last time I update MelinaMarchetta-Fans with MM news. You gotta check out 132 Minutes for that or Twitter @MMarchettaFANS.

Dread filled my heart, and it froze. I tried not to look at her, as memories came flooding back.

Katia's words floated by my ears; I wasn't listening. All I could think about was that Christina's daughter was standing right here. In the same room I was. I tried to push away the assumptions that were buzzing around my head, and I gathered enough courage to give her a look.
She had that air of indignance and rebellion a typical teenager had, and I marvelled at her strength. Her dark curly hair was familiar, and her smooth olive skin contrasted this. She left a pretty striking impact on me.
And then our eyes met.
"You're Christina's daughter?" I asked coolly.
"Yes." She sounded cold.
I cocked my head, and muttered "I didn't expect you to be so old."
She ignored me and went

By this, I meant going to McDonalds. I wasn’t even hungry. Was it to see her? I didn’t even know if she would be working tonight. She's an aspiring lawyer and I am going to be a car mechanic. Car mechanics don’t marry barristers. As I drove along Parramatta Road, my eyes landed on the golden arches which illuminated the restaurant. I lingered for a moment, fiddling with the strap of my helmet, wondering what to say to her if I saw her.
I sensed the commotion before I saw it.
