The Merchant is back, and he wants to give Nolan a present. How noce of him! ... ... ... TOO nice of him, actually. What's the catch?

Hey, he's in the restaurant business. He knows that they don't make as much money on the steaks as they do on the baked potatoes.

That's one way to force a sale, or perhaps it's a real-world example of DLC. Nolan should just put the chest on the mantle as decoration to teach the mysterious stranger of indeterminate gender a lesson. (Forget the $5,000 inside that the peddler didn't know about. ;)) I love Nolan's expressions, especially at the end. Stranger's smile sticking up over his/her scarf is cute too.

It's quite relevant to certain things that have been happening in the past week. There are a few games that reward players with "chests" and "loot boxes" for free, but the player must purchase keys to open them. And what's in the containers? It's a gamble, and also a very serious problem.

Perhaps I'll have Nolan keep the chest, and have it shown every now and then as a background in-joke. It will remain closed.

But I already know what's inside it: Hope. :D

Yeah, Hope... as in "Hope there's something good in here."
