Can I draw Anime/Cartoons well? This question is always being asked on DeviantART--mostly by young, aspiring artists who really think they want to become a great, professional anime/manga/cartoon artist when they get "good enough".The matter of the fact is that, no matter how much you try to be good at a style, regardless of how much you practice and how often you draw it--it'll never look right.UNLESSyou study realistic form and proportion first.Learn how the human body really looks and really works before you try to stylize it.The best way to do this is to find out if there are any Figure Study classes being held in your town or city. A lot of places will have these sessions where anyone can come in at a certain time and draw nude models that will sit and pose for any artist who attends. These are perfect for learning the realistic human form. As long as you draw them as you see them and try to figure out why things are the way they are.In short, figure studies are how artists dissect a human being wit
Feature 011: The Art Of PatternI have decided to try and do a feature journal every 5 days to a week! It's a lot of fun for me to do and helps you out too. This week it is going to be Fractuals and Patterns! Lately, I have found fractuals rather entrancing to look at, and even intricate patterns in general if done in a certain way. So this feature journal is gonna showcase some of that.Like all my features, I will always add one to three of my own pieces to match the theme in question. Everybody wins.Let's feature some of my favourite artworks that have incorporated fractuals and patterns in a beautiful or amazing way. The ones below are pieces that really captured my heart and attention, be it for technique, style, use of colour, detail or plain awesomeness, all are worth showing for various reasons. Give these pieces and artists some love if there are any you find wonderful too.
Colourful Cats and Delightful DogsI was cleaning up my favourites folder recently and was pleasantly surprised as to how many pictures of cats and dogs I have collected over the past few months. So I thought I'd put a news article together with some of them so I can share the cuteness with you all. These are mainly photos, however there is some tradtitional art mixed in. Some of these have been popular, some have not; but all have been uploaded to deviantArt with love and affection of the animals we call friends. These artists have NOT asked to be featured, so please help by commenting, faving or watching to make this a pleasant surprise for them! If you are one of the artists featured here, please the article to help yourself get seen. (If you don't know how to fav the article, here's a tutorial (Thank you Loriele for uploading this quick guide!) http://loriele.deviantart.com/art/A-Quick-Guide-to-Features-164875305 ) :thumb
Vector traced anime It has been a pet-peeve of mine for a very long while now, and as much as I've tried ignoring the problem but it doesn't seem to be getting any better, and frankly I am very confused about dA's rules concerning the matter. As far as I can see the rules seem to be in contradiction with other rules of DeviantArt.I am talking about Vector tracing.I had written a journal entry regarding this matter some time ago and there was some confusion as to what I was really getting at.I am sick and tired of searching the Deviant Art archives for certain anime titles only to receive literally hundreds of Vector drawings that are nothing more than traces of either official art, screenshots or magazine scans. I am not referring to Vector tracings of photographs, or things sketched by hand first, or collaborations where one person drew the image and another person vectorized it. I am referring specifically to vector traces of anime scree
What is Loli ?What is Loli!?What is the difference between Lolicon and Lolita!?Thanks deviantART for banding our LoliFansClub, Now I have to explain this all over again!First! Loli is indeed what deviantART call as underage girls,BUT under age girls or Loli art, ARE NOT 100% CHILD PORN GRAPHICS!! lots people always mistakes the meaning of this word, and think everything that is called Loli is related of child porn! which is NOT TRUE!! here is an example of Loli which is done of the LoliFansClub owner ZiyoLingIf may I ask, which part of this Loli ART is EROTIC?If you're gonna say something like :"OMG she's wearing mini skirt..its too temptation...!!"Then I would say... :"LIKE I TOLD YOU SO...stay away from porns... even its not child porn, it ruins your innocent mind!!"deviantART is filled of many Loli arts, that are just not being notify as a Loli, such as Anime, Naruto characters are even underage, Original Characters that we have cre

Long Exposure TutorialThis tutorial is for everyone who loves the magic of night photography, surreal effects, use of lights, and long exposures even at daylight! Or just for everyone who wants to try this section of photography. I used some of my own pictures as examples for the topics I am talking about. Every picture has the EXIF/camera data, so you can see how I took this photo!Photography at nightThe easiest way and also the cheapest to get long exposures is to take photos at night. The whole photography is a triangle: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_fxbalKKB9mw/ScJbsMEPLLI/AAAAAAAAAlo/fV7m4syiOvw/s320/Exposure+Triangle.gif To get the right exposure, shutter speed, aperture and ISO are the main parts. If you have less light, open the aperture and ISO and shutter speed are constant. If you use a higher ISO you can keep your shutter speed and your aperture, and if you use a slower shutter speed (longer exposures) you can keep the ISO and the aperture! And this is what we need for night photography!I
