I like kings and explorations of monarchy. Code Geass, Magi, and Vinland Saga rank among my favorite action anime, and Meruem(HxH) is my favorite character. I think Lelouch strikes the best balance between realism and idealism among all kings, despite his obvious cruelty. Lelouch does not hesitate to bend his enemies to his will, ignoring their thoughts and desires, and he is obviously willing to sacrifice their lives as well in pursuit of peace and equality for the majority. This is harsh pragmatism that many anime protagonists fight against, but ultimately I consider Lelouch more of an idealist. His standards are unrealistic and he holds to his uncompromising ideals for people and the world. Ultimately, I think this all speaks to his faith in humans and his willingness to view them as equals. If his stances and morals don't align with someone he will use force because he can't compromise his views, but he respects that his enemies are willing and able to do the same so he will not

More importantly I recently did the earthbound lore dive I've been meaning to do for a while and I came up with the theory that naturally, others had already came up with. After a few google searches, I saw this theory was generally dismissed, and it's understandable why. If you watched Naruto when it was getting big in the west via it's airing on cartoon network, you probably also saw the incredible level of hate for Sasuke on the internet. If not, just go to youtube and type in Emo Sasuke and you can get a pretty good idea. I recently went to Crunchyroll see if the Chunin Exam arc still held up, and it does so much that I watched the rest of Naruto (well apart from fillers).
