Rise From Ashes: Ariel 10

Once the sun rose, I got out of bed and waited for the others in the gathering space of the guildhall.  Almost as soon as I sat down, the Infernal walked in and leaned up against a nearby wall.  Of course he did.  What was I expecting to happen? He must have noticed that I had been crying since he asked me if I was okay.  He called me by my name and asked if I wanted to talk about it.  I decided that I probably should even if I didn’t want to.  So, I told him about how in my nightmare he ripped out my throat.  He said I probably wasn’t the first person to have a nightmare about him like that, but that he doesn’t actually ki

I knew it was only a matter of time before my companions found reasons to be upset with me.  I went to Naj’ko to thank her for her help with the chupacabras and to make sure Lily didn’t accidentally hurt her when she pounced on the one she was fighting.  She seemed more concerned about her glory being stolen by a cat than she was potential injury.  What glory?  They were only chupacabras.  Not questioning her, I apologized for Lily.  In battle, she sees only her foe and reacts on instinct.  I told her I don’t understand wanting glory.  She thought that was funny and told me that by hunting the Leviathan I am chasing after gl

We got a letter from the governor today.  The airship that crashed into the city wall, a man named Gren managed to make us the legal owners of it.  How he did that, I don’t know.  Zandire told me that Gren is Sir Pendalton’s assistant and that they’d dealt with him before.  I guess that’s good.  I do not know. The letter also told us that the master artificer, Tarvek Rubyrust, wanted to work on our airship, so we went to the airship docks to meet him.  I wasn’t too keen on meeting someone new but admittedly I was curious to see the ship. I don’t know much about airships but this one was…odd.  As far

I brought Flint a tankard of ale for scaring off a dragon.  I was not the first to do so, but he said that the one I brought would likely be sweeter than the rest.  I could not help being amused by his flattery, but I returned the not so subtle flirting with a toothy smile, which he seemed dazzled by. He went on to tell me he had never seen a person with wolfish fangs like mine before on the borders of the kingdom of Knov.  Unsurprising, seeing as my tribe is from the foothills of Urdan to the north.  He told me he had not often been to Urdan, even though his family traveled around the continent of Druash. He originally came from Knov, but

On my way to find somewhere quiet, I met Thenea in the hall.  She was not joining in the festivities because she’s not fond of crowds, so I asked her to accompany me in searching for the keep’s library. While searching, there was quite a bit of awkward silence between us, so I decided to strike up a conversation if she wouldn’t.  I felt the need to apologize to her on behalf of…someone, I wasn’t sure who to be honest…for getting her wrapped up in this mess with the Fragmented.  She chuckled and said that the rest of them should be the ones apologizing for getting me wrapped up in something not undead relat

After taking a detour to see Vintus’ family, we were found by the head of the investigation we were on before.  The city of Greenleaf was being invaded and she was in need of our aid.  Of course, we agreed to help. From miles away we could see that the city was burning.  It wasn’t until we got a bit closer that I could see a beast circling the city, obscured by the smoke.  I could not believe my eyes when I recognized what it was.  Recently, there have been stories of dragon sightings along the coast, but I had always taken them to be mere rumor.  But there one was, circling the city.  It would have been amazing were it not so ho

When we got to my mother’s house, my mother and sister were happy to see me, but that happiness went away as soon as I said I would be gone for quite a while.  Mother was worried whether the mission was safe, and Sorine never likes to see me go.  Of course, I couldn’t tell mother what exactly I would be doing or else she would do everything in her power to keep me from going.  Sorine however, I promised her to bring her something interesting I find along my journey and I plan to keep that promise.  I know she wishes she could go with me.  I know how she feels cooped up at home. Dear Master Celine, We made a side stop so Vintus could go see his family before going off on our journey.  They seemed really nice, but I don’t think they really wanted him to go.  When he told his mother about leaving, the first thing she asked was if the mission was safe or not.  I get why she asked but what was she expecting the answer to be?  Of course it isn’t safe!  But that’s part of why it’s so exciting! Not two minutes after our visit with Vintus’ family, the lieutenant who had been head of the Citroton investigation hurried up to us and told us that the city of Greenleaf was under attack and needed o

The journey up the mountain to see the high priestess, Myriv, was quite uneventful, though it was rather obvious from her body language that Vivi was frightened.  She had mentioned not liking heights at some point, so I felt it safe to assume that was the problem. Once we got there, we went right to Myriv’s office.  She was meditating beneath a mural depicting a tall robed figure who I presumed to be her god.  When we inquired about the marks on our hands, she could tell us very little.  They were not the symbols of any cults she knew about.  She decided though it was best to give us a test that might determine what they do. Hi, hope that you are well?

May I just say that I really like your work especialy your stories, I was wondering if you would be interested in a fan writing competition that I am holding on my page to help promote my book Stacey Roberts The Green Girl?

If so I could send you the journal with all the information in a link?
I'm afraid I have too many other projects going to take on another.  Sorry.
