Forge of Wars: Tactics

I just got the first print of my game from thegamecrafter.com which is a really cool website that prints, packages, and ships games that anybody can design.

I opened the package, spread the stuff out, and took a photo.  I like the way they package everything.  Cards and tokens in their own plastic baggies.  Ruler on the edge, and the instructions on top.

The cards are a little bit darker than I wanted, but its not bad.  Not certain if I want to lighten the art or not.  It looks really good, the stats are large enough that even older eyes can read them without magnifying glasses.  Elder generation of the family tested, elder generation of the family approved. 

The box is really awesome.  Though the back came out WAY darker than I planned.  That I'm going to resubdue and send to them again.

I do wish they had a middle option between folded up sheets of instructions and full color, threaded booklets.  Something like the stapled black and white instructions we see in most big market games.  But this is workable.

The tokens look good and will do exactly what I want, though I've decided I need to revise the character tokens a bit.  Add names to the back for better identification.

The ruler they put in it is an awesome 5 foot fabric ruler.  Way more than the game requires but it is a perfect game aid.

The final game will have a pair of dice in it as well.

They do track game versions in their system.  I ordered the proof, then realized that dice were important enough to add so I did it.  Their system is smart enough to know that the version I ordered did not match the current version that was live.  They've got a smart computer system. 

Overall, I am amazingly impressed with the final product.  They do a good job of printing, cutting, and packaging.  And they did a good job wrapping it for shipping.  It arrived very quickly, showed up with no dings or anything like that.  It was really in pristine condition.  I am absolutely impressed with the quality of the product as delivered to my hands.  They've obviously done this for a while and know how to do it good.
