Just doodled something and it slowly turned into this. Gave me some ideas for the Icon of Sin-bossmonster.

You are one of those fans that has both the imagination and the talent to surpass the originals, and the Doom redesigns are a testament to that.Plus, I can't draw for the love of God, so seeing someone with similar tastes is simply magnificent.

How do you figure this guy would attack, if he were to be some sort of boss/miniboss?

By summoning demons and pulling the chains so hard the ground shakes, squirting out lava and heavy boulders. That ought the spell out good times for the player, turning around in horror to see a Hellknight about to get jiggy with his entrails, only to have the thing crushed to death by a bigass rock.

This is really cool, it would make a great mini-boss for DOOM 4,  I hope the Icon of Sin does come back as a the final boss if the new doom game comes out...  :)

I too could go for some sweet ass icon of sin action... Boy, that sounded dirty. The Cyberdemon in Doom 3 was wa-hayyyy too lacking, and they forced you to use that lame soulcube. Thanks :3

LOL, that does sounds dirty!! Laughing  Yeah I see what you mean, I thought the soulcube thing was pretty stupid, It would have been alot better if it was the BFG. Battling the cyberdemon himself, to me it felt pretty mundane and anti-climatic, but that how I think of it.  Hopefully they would do a better job in DOOM 4.

I know! I hate it when developers shove a completely new gameplay element down our throats at the final boss battle. Granted, the Cyberdemon wasn't as bad as Ares in God of War or that whatshisface in Killzone 2, but it was  l a m e.

it is cool but...the icon of sin is meant to be a symbol...like a pentagram, it symbolizes the corruption and evil that is hell. it is even hinted that the icon of sin is meant to be a representation of satan himself...but that satan  couldn't be fought in the gam because well...that would be a little extreme. but the icon of sin and all those other pentagram symbols u see around the levels of doom...are meant to represent evil.

Really? Where did you learn this? Sounds like an interesting read. Because I always though the final boss was like that due to technical limitations. Even the text at the end of Doom 2 suggests that the creature has a body ("Face of the biggest demon you ever saw" or something similar). And the manuals and endings of the games refer to it as 'Baphomet' and 'Gatekeeper', which to me implies of some kind of sentient being.

And as someone who has been listening to black metal for over a decade, I am quite aware what pentagrams are supposed to represent ;)

A revamp of the Icon of Sin boss would be pretty cool, especially considering how games and such today can just keep scaling up enemies for players to battle.
