Numix-Circle Linux Desktop Icon Theme

Numix-Circle is the newest Numix icon theme and it uses circle shaped applications icons.
This is version 14 of it and it comes with about 2150 application icons covered (over 800 more than the previous version) and the biggest change in it is that the baseplate background shape and some of the icons symbols have been completely redone so it feels like a whole new theme. It is a huge improvement over the previous version.
It has custom:

  • Folders icons

  • System Settings icons

  • Indicator icons

  • Symbolic icons

  • and more

These non application icons are part of the basic Numix icon theme, which you can download or purchase from here.

It is GPL licensed and the "code" is hosted at GitHub.
If you wish to install it under Ubuntu (or derivates) execute the following commands in terminal:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:numix/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install numix-icon-theme-circle

If you wish to support the project please buy the icon theme for every dollar counts.

Other Numix related artwork can be found here.
Don't forget to circle our Google + page, become a member of our Google+ community and visit our official webpage.
Icon requests and bug reposts should be filled in Launchpad as bug reports.

NOTE: Please check our website for instructions for installing under Fedora/RedHat and openSuSE.

P.S. If you want to request in application icon do it the THIS WAY.

Question! I'm using this numix circle icons on Manjaro, and the icons are awesome except the folder icons. The folder icons are a really really really ugly yellow-greenish lame color. What is the deal with that? Is it incompatible or something?

When will this be compatible with ArchLinux:
Repository      : extra
Name            : harfbuzz
Version         : 1.4.5-1

Currently the only option is to downgrade to 1.3 ::…

I no longer have a copy of Harfbuzz 1.3 and all the other packages that will break!!!
Seems like the git was last updated 7 month ago, are you just leaving it as Downgrade or don't use?

ZIP seems broken now (wasn't when I purchased it 2014), but you should still be able to download it directly from github:

Download… , extract the zip and place the folders into ~/.icons

Bumping super old comment to mention that the zip still appears to be broken.

I'm using Elementary OS. I've followed the instructions as far as I can tell and installed a Numix gnome editor, but fairly new to Linux so not sure whether I've done it right or not!

Can't find a separate app to change the icons, or anything in my system settings. Any ideas?

*Since discovered my OS uses Pantheon as a desktop environment. How do I install Numix on Pantheon?

Figured it out!

If anyone else is using Elementary OS, you need to install Elementary Tweaks to get the option to change the icon set.
