Scrappy Hate

Description

Just thought I'd post this. Even though I'm not too crazy about Scooby Doo, I do have to question why certain characters receive so much hate. The screen shot here is from an episode of one of the more recent Scooby Doo TV shows. Particularly "Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated", where Fred and Daphne visit a museum of sorts with displays of all the past villains they've unmasked, along with some of their past allies who haven't been touched ever since. They come across a display of Flim-Flam (a recurring character from the 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo), where Daphne commented that he was sentenced to 25 years in prison, allegedly for a major con he pulled. This was most likely a joking reference to the negative reception he received for being a main character on The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo, and the fact he never returned ever since. But then when they come across a statue of Scrappy Doo, Daphne was about to comment about Scrappy. But Fred, being kind of a dick, is quick to cut her off, saying "Look away, Daphne. We promised each other that we would never speak of him. Not EVER." And then they leave the display. Yeah, as if the hatred towards the character wasn't obvious enough. Especially when you count how he was treated in the live action Scooby Doo movie, the Robot Chicken shorts, and in spesific episodes with how they trashed stands with Scrappy dolls on them. I wouldn't be surprised if they took another jab at Scrappy in future projects. In fact, the hatred for this character seems to be common place now.
