I've been meaning to post on this AuTalkz series for about a week now, but I haven't had the time. Anyway, by the time I was five or six years old, I was diagnosed with Aspergers, OCD, ADHD, and a hypersensory disorder (Can't remember the exact hypersensory disorder I was diagnosed with, but basically, when one of my senses is stimulated, the stimulation is stronger and more intense than what the same stimulation would cause people without it this disorder). Anyway, I've read all your AuTalkz comics, finished them about a week now, and I wanted to say that everything you described in these comics either describes me perfectly or is very similar to my traits. These caused me to be bullied at school, and though I had my friends and family to help lift me up on bad days, it still hurt. I think that all people should be educated on Aspergers and ASD in general from the time they start school. Maybe if they had a bit of education in the subject, they may be a bit more empathetic. No one without ASD can ever completely understand what we who have ASD go through, but they might be a bit more empathetic and kind and somewhat accomodating if they knew what ASD was and why people with it have their quirky traits. Anyway, I love the comics. Do you mind if I share it with some people I know; some of them are affected in some way with ASD, and some just need to be educated. I won't take credit for the art, and I'll make sure to credit you. Up to you, man! Again, awesome comic and awesome content!

Of course you can share it!  The more people who know, the better.
I started the comics as a way to try and help people who aren't on the spectrum understand a little bit of what it's like to have ASD.

Thanks, man! You should keep putting them out. Not only are they awesome pieces of art, but they educate others about ASD! I love it! Again, thanks, and keep coming up with more, cause the more the world knows about ASD, the better!

I always get extra nervous about yelling cos my parents were scary. And they always used to be like "I'M NOT YELLING!!" xD
I dunno if they really couldn't tell that their voice had increased, or if I'm too oversensitive.  ^^;

It's not just you, I get nervous as well.  A lot of it is because, though I know the other person is angry with me, I can't read their body language very well or what their eyes are saying, or anything like that.  So, it's a scary experience because I don't know if they're going to hurt me or just scream at me (which is also disorienting and scary).

I'm sometimes told that I'm laughing too loud, or that my voice has gone up in decibels (without me knowing it).

well long ago there was a manual but thats over a hundred yrs ago and most could be dealt with withought a mental institute.  was modern times seems to think.  but talking about yelling... well most people who yell are in a bad mood and feel that its the only way to relay things others think thats the only way they can communicate but commonalty when  a person yells the other person immediately goes to defense mode an either will yell back or overload and panic.  and usually people will blame things on the person who was being yelled at as  they find the loser is in the right and they refer it to loser as the one who did not react in such an aggressive manner.  there are a few tricks i know of to deal with aggressive attitudes or yelling or what i like to call them most of the time i encounter them  "adult tantrums"  there are tricks to dealing with it its part of aroma therapy: wild orange can calm the mind and swiftly pull a person out of there aggressive attitude  the yelling mentality. sadly its not easy to always have an orange on you to do this^^
for me i immediately go into a defensive mode  wither i yell or not doesnt matter but i dont want to be in that persons prescience during the time they are like that.

I get defensive, too.  Or, if something is said that's completely false, I'll protest it.  Lately, I just try to keep my mouth shut and sort of ride out the storm, even if I hear something mean or incorrect.  I also sometimes get up and walk away from the person, so I can definitely understand the not wanting to be in their presence thing.

Oranges, huh?  Maybe I should get one of those scented candles and keep one in my room, then light it when it seems like my father is going to fly off the handle.  I'm looking into getting my own apartment (assisted living stuffs), but that will take a while, and there are almost always waiting lists.
There is also apparently a way to make a candle out of an orange...I just wouldn't want that to sit in my room (especially in the summer; it'd be bug central).

hehe true well in this season a n orange with cloves pushed into it is considered a decoration but is a natural aroma to help generate calm^^

take it carefully and be safe my friend i hope the apartment works for you when it happens^^

Except for a teacher whom I call "psycho-teacher" who I had the unfortunate luck of getting in 9th grade Spanish, we really didn't have a teacher yell at us.  I did get in trouble a couple times for reading during a lesson (I'd try to hide the book under the desk; didn't always work) or drawing during a lesson (once had my sketchbook taken away from me).  It was more embarrassing than anything else, since I hate getting in trouble.

Of course, there was one incident in 9th grade where we were taking a vocab test, and we hear a raised voice from the classroom next to ours and then a loud THUNK.
Typically, a rule is "keep your eyes on your own paper", but the teacher didn't fault us at all for looking up, then at the back of the room (since the classrooms were back to back).  The teacher even left our classroom to go see what happened.
Apparently, the other teacher had gotten so frustrated at his class that he picked up a desk and threw it to the ground.
The "psycho-teacher" I had gotten only threw his bag and some chalk, as well as kicked a desk, and that was scary as it was.  It must have been terrifying for that class in there when the desk was thrown.

Even though we hadn't seen it, all of us were still freaked out (and praying that we didn't wind up with him next year, as he's a 10th grade teacher).  Our own teacher was sympathetic, and gave us all extra time on the vocab test; she was really nice about what happened (and is one of the few high school teachers whose name and general appearance I actually remember; general appearance, because I have face blindness).
