A Belated Vetrans' Day Post
I was thinking of this only today and thought to get it down while it was still fresh in my mind. It was back when I was in high school- mid-to-late 1970s. I was working at Sears back then, in their paint department.
An older gentleman came in, wearing a hat that denoted the aircraft carried Enterprise. Being a WWII buff- I read just about anything on it I can get my hands on- I went up to him and asked him which Enterprise he'd served on. Turns out, he'd served aboard the nuclear powered one that saw service during Vietnam.
He then thanked me for asking. I don't know if the gentleman is still alive- I doubt it- but that's one encounter I'll never forget.
