She was sleeping now…silently. Breath escaped her lips as soft as silk on skin. Her face was still a bit pale…but at least she was able to rest. I ran a hand over her forehead to feel for fever. It was down now…much better than before. As I felt her head, long raven black strands fell over my fingers and I retracted my hand quickly, startled by the sensation. Still she slept on, and I watched her as she did. I’d barely left her side except to eat and drink…and even then, I’d always return to the room with something for her…soup usually. She didn’t eat much…in fact she barely sipped it. But with each meal I gave Anya the antibiotics. She hated the taste…called it ‘agstra.’ A word roughly meaning ‘disgusting.’ Well…I assume that’s what it meant…she could’ve just been trying to spit it out.

Marcus didn’t stop flying until the hospital was in sight. His eyes constantly switched between the direction he was flying and to Maoko, who was still unconscious, and barely breathing. He cursed under his breath and darted towards the ground as fast as he could. He landed outside the hospital building and picked up Maoko, sprinting towards the door.
“HELP!” He shouted. “SOMEONE HELP!” A few folks turned around, saw the sight and, after a few seconds of staring, one ran inside to call for assistance. Immediately a team of doctors in white coats came running out with a stretcher for Maoko. They swept her up quickly and put her on.
“What happened to her?” The nurse asked as they began running her inside.
“I-It happened so fast.” Marcus muttered frantically. “But…but she was struck by lightning!”
“Lightning?” The nurse asked skeptically.
“Just trust me! You need to save her, damn it! You NEED to!
